I got the call today that I can pick it up Friday.
I'm so happy for you
Not to be bitter or anything. :) I think mine is on a boat for late October
Way to go! I think I am on the same boat for October
Enjoy your bike!
Hope they show up in Montreal soon. I'd like to go see one before getting back on the waiting list....can't complain too much as the delivery delay was what made me go nuts enough to buy a Ural!
I'm #1 at my dealer... I didn't get any news yet....:huh I'm hoping to get a call soon.
They were supposed to show out here on the Island. None did. The dealers' call to headquarters has him really scratching his head. None this month and aparently they are are on a boat somewhere out in the deep blue. Talking about Oct. or Nov. now. Doh!!
Put a deposit down yesterday and the Montreal dealer told m they had one in the back ready to be uncrated.
Yellow of course.
Last news I heard was that some were supposed to show up this week. But mine will be showing up a couple of weeks later because it's a non-ABS bike, and those were run a week or so later than the ABS bikes. Something about production line setup.
My dealer has been up front with me, since December. But now, I think they're feeding me a pile of bull.
Zaner, I was told the same thing about mine (non-ABS) and the way the production was run. From what I've read on the other forums that I stalk hourly the bikes that have been delivered are ABS equiped.
Anyway, I was told Sept, then I was told late Oct, so I'm not expecting to see one this far east till November.
"I've been told" is the most hated expression...
I'm gonna ask for the written statement about the delivery date next time. let them deal with penalties
So, they got one of the ten they let loose? And, of course it was spoken for?
I'm probably the only butt hole here who only wants his bike to get here next year.
Then I should have the pesos....
F800GS black and yellow are showing up at Montreal BMW MotoInternational Dealer
This last weekend was the GS challenge just outside Montreal. I heard someone showed up on an F800GS from Toronto and that the bike took a few spills and is no longer pristine to say the least. Must be some pics floating around somewhere or its just more BS>
Just picked it up, the dealer said I was the first person in Toronto to get one. He did say all the ones they received had the lowered seat, so I have to go back when they get the normal ones.
Here's a couple of picture from the GS Challenge.
That's me on the 800 Saturday
And some guys push it a little too much on Sunday! :eek1
I am going to follow this thread pretty closely as I just sold my bike and am looking for a new ride.. I am hoping to get an Airhead GS but they are as scarce as hens teeth.
I sauntered over to the Motorrad site and like what I saw in the 800. When I owned my KLR and then Wee strom I kinda envisioned what the perfect dual sport bike should be. So far the GS 800 is it (except I would have liked shaft drive).
Now that i'm bikeless it's looking better and better. If I went GS 800 I wouldnt want to take delivery before next March so there is no rush.. What do you think stock/ delivery time would be like then?
ABS would have saved your ass!
Holy crap man that is breaking in a new bike in true Adv style!!!
How did the bike do compared to the others and what damage did she incur?
I saw the bike as they were doing the five finalist trials. It was interesting to watch the BMW tech from Moto Internaional duct tape the headlight assembly back on! It was broken on one side. Guess that's what happens when you plant it into the rocks!
it was all in good fun though and don't feel too bad... I believe this F800GS still belongs to BMW Canada (soneone can correct me if I'm wrong). I know it was the first one in the country.
