Your chain is probably one of the unaffected ones, like mine. Does your VIN fall into the VIN range in the recall?

Nah. I'm at 23,000 miles, and have the same original stuff still going too. Based on the recall, it does seem like there may have been a bad run of chains from CZ at some point. But I suspect that most of the complaints here are isolated problems that get blown all out of proportion on the Intertubes.

Count me among the few who have the valve cover leakage though. I expect my dealer will fix that at the 24K service.

Were you informed of the recall by mail or phone or did you hear about it when you went to the dealership? I'm in Calgary and I haven't heard a thing!

"U" for USA bikes? I wouldn't read to much into a Canadian recall document as to how it may or may not pertain to a USA recall, if and when that happens.

Woo.. that's over 50,000 km. My dealer had told me chain and sprockets need to be replaced at 30,000 km (about 18K miles).. so I say your chain doesn't owe you anything.. I'd replace it now.

Encoded in the VIN is destination market and emissions package, both of which are unique for the USA
