We have an ST, and I have to say that in it's own way, it's better. The forks are awesome.

F800GS numero uno has been prepped and ridden in SD, CA. Picked it up this afternoon. A few pics below at the dealership. Got dealer-installed bashplate and crash-bars (more pics later). Wow. What a bike. What a gear-box. What power (way more than my old K75S!). Can't wait to get past the break-in period... :evil

Huge grins - this is a SUPER bike.:pynd

I loved the bike, mine is on it's way. No real complaints, on a hot day it might get warm...blows hot air on my legs. I don't really like the BMW controls, but I guess I'll get used to them...otherwise, the bike rules. Motor is great, transmission is great, can't wait to get mine!

I asked him to take it and he was gracious and took it for me, but I don't think that they would have appreciated it being posted on their website. :lol2

Went over to a buddies so we decided to ride.

First we did some urban motarding. Some back alleys, parking garages, sidewalks through construction. Somehow me made it ontop of the roof.

Then we went under the I-40 bridge crossing drainage ditches and speeding up and down in between pillars in the dirt. No pics, too busy riding.

Then we went over to a friends house who was having a birthday party for his kid.

On the way home I was just looking for stuff to park the bike in front of.

This photo reminded me of the one (very small) thing I didn't like during my test ride on this new GS: that brake fluid reservoir! I'm sure it's not going anywhere, but that fully rubber mounting lets it vibrate around like crazy, and it's up fairly high enough to be in your field of view = distracting.

Hey Phil, and others, any comments on the Vario cases? How's the mounting? Are they the same size as the 12GS Varios?

    good stuff, thanks!

I've heard several people say this but it doesn't bother me a bit. It's low enough that if I'm watching the road ahead (which I try to do most of the time), it's not in my peripheral vision.
