Got a picture of that?
I find I'm developing a strange affinity for the bobble headed urine sample cup. I'm thinking of making a gauge background to measure the roughness of the road for it...................wonder if Touratech would be interested?!
I spoke to a BMW tech at a bike show and asked why they went with the booble head design. He told me it was because the parallel twin creates a vibration at "x"rpm that caused the brake fluid in the front res to aerate and it was causing issue with the ABS system. It was only at a very specific RPM but they decided better safe than sorry and rubber mounted the res to resolve the issue.
Careful, you'll give BMW ideas! They'll fit a graduated face to it and call it an inclinometer, and charge extra for it as an "option".
OK guys I am getting rid of the stock holder. It's only a matter of time till I get hypnotized if I don't. Are there any other choices than these mentioned here. Dave
I installed the Schnitzer front brake cylinder small and black, works fine.
Has anyone recently replace the front brake reservoir on their 800gs? If so where did you get the part and any problems?
off a 990/950
Has anyone used or ordered one of these from eBay? It looks like a decent replacement for the stock one
Oh yeah! 2 wheels!
Here is my solution, just covered it it up. 2 for $5 bucks, perfect fit, adds some protection, and I dont need to look at the urine any longer. They also come in like 10 different colors. If you are a Nike man, they got 'em too.
My dealer uses a baby sock!
Thats a good one too!
I mounted the f800depot direct to the lever kit and have had zero issues riding on or off road, no more annoying bobble in my line of sight.,I'd say it would take a really hard crash to hit it now in which case I'd be worried of a lot of other things breaking
For me, riding my 79 fxs HD has me immune to bobble head issue. Everything rattles, shakes and vibrated at any speed!
Here is what I put on last night. Won't be able to try it til spring.
Looks a lit better than the bobble head.
Oh yeah! 2 wheels!
Why don't u just upgrade to the R1200 brake reservoir???
... and like an idiot I bought the 25 protection from TT... Think I'll got this route anyway
My Wunderlich protection saved my Front Brake Master Cylinder this Saturday. Got bent to the side and made contact. Was able to keep on riding.
I'd say $39 (purchased by the previous owner) well worth the money.
What sweet mirror setup is that? I live in Los Angeles and need that for splitting lanes. SUV mirrors line up perfectly with mine...
