Well, I'm looking to get a new bike next year and did not like the F800GS for several reasons that seem "fixed" (not that there was nothing wrong or flawed, but I just did not like them) with this F900GS. Things like the tank location, no electronics to play with (cruise control, etc.), no multifunction wheel... And it looks like all this might be changing. Basically it was a bit outdated compared to the competition.

I was leaning towards a R1200GS, should I go with a beemer next year. But this changes things. Even though, as some of you say, I'm a bit weary of buying a first gen of anything...

Almost buying the Africa twin after a F800gs a Triumph and a Harley. Can't wait to get back to the adventure game.
Only thing holding me back right now is this possible f900. Wanna see what the fuss is all about. I really liked my F800. Just find it a little underpowered.

I'm caught between this "new F850/F900 GS" and a KTM 1090R. Provided that it will be available in GSA.
I'm in no rush , I have time on my hands. I come from a F800GS. Hoping that it is 900 to 1000 and not 850.

"...The new motor is likely to have expanded by 50cc to become an 850cc parallel-twin. We’re also led to believe that the new engine has a 270-degree firing order..."

    'Nuda sound would be great...

"...The wheels remain as 21in front and 18in rear, but that’s the only similarity – in every other way they are completely different to the current ones. New hubs carry new brake discs and the laced rims now mimic the ones found on the firm’s Boxer twins, meaning that they can now run tubeless tyres....."

Tubeless tyres / wheels would be a real great improvement, they got the rear wheel size wrong in the article as both my F8GS had annoying 17in. rear wheels...

I always wished the F800 would get some decent (adjustable) suspension and more power as well as cruise control. I wager they will not want it to have much more grunt as it will threaten the 1200GSA.

I loved the way it looked in 2013-'15 but the recent colours make me gag.

If this is the look of the new one it doesn't appeal to me, too Triumph Tiger looking.

    I've already jumped ship after owning a new F800GS and a new R1200GSA !

Well, this is inaccurate since our bike has a 17 in as the rear wheel. That's why I always look to this type of article with some suspicious eyes... too much information given from photos only.

But, assuming it's true, a 18 in rear wheel could be good, letting to a more broad line of tire's options for off road applications.

Was at my dealer today and saw the BMW announcement of the new F850GS. I didn't pay a lot of attention but he said it has cruise control.

My dealer here doesn't have any clue. When asked, he showed a pic of the "new" 2017/18 model...

That's actually clever, they are already getting indexed by google as "having" that, so once the bike comes out they will be ahead of the game as far as search engines go and be one of the top results when people search for f850gs
