Same concept as last year, the year before and... well... since I started this shit in 2010.

Who: Good people who ride motorbikes
What: Show up, ride, camp, eat, drink, be merry, have a good time, (hopefully not :puke2 in your tent)

Where: McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park (@ the campground)
    https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=455
    Map: HERE

    When: Oct 27-28

This is a 95% unorganized 'Farm Rules' event with no shirts, no pins, no food, no swag, no strippers. I will not be there to greet you and hold your hand to set up your camp or your day ride. Usually about 20 of us show up in pairs or individually, we share camp sites, and just ride motorbikes and enjoy each others company.

Some people bring their own grubs and cook. Others rise and hit up a local restaurant for breakfast, ride all day, and hit up a local joint for dinner. Evenings we crowd around the fire telling stupid riding stories, make fun of each-other, and some of us get drunk. :freaky However, if you can't handle your booze, please stay the fuck away. WE DO NOT babysit. :deal

Don't be a stranger. Come on and join the fun. Storytime around the campfire will leave you with a sore belly as we get some great stories generating a LOT of good laughs.

We usually share campsites, so pay your entry fee at the gate, ride in, and pick a spot to toss your tent. Most riders share their site with 1-3 other riders. ESPECIALLY since State Parks OVERCHARGE for camp sites.

That's a great site, and fun riding, and cooler weather. Might sneak up through the Sierra, then roll home down the coast.

Depends what you want to do while up there. There will be everything from big GG's, to little 650's. Some people will do dirt day rides, others will do street. If I were you, coming from SoCal, I'd just bring the XT. You'll be a lot more comfortable. Plus, trucking sucks. ADV spirit= Ride dat shit!

Personally, I have no idea what I'll bring, but it will either be my DR or my FJR.

OH no! Now I has a sad.
Sorry you cant make it. However, these dates were selected so that my parents, who will be towing a travel-trailer, can attend.

Just finishing a frame-up build of a low mile '01 DR. Too fresh to ride that far. Ride out of my driveway on the XT1200. I do fine on dirt roads, just not happy picking the BEAST up! Amazing FUN on beat-up empty California back roads. If I ride and camp, might need help fending off the bears. Not real good at that.

    Anyway, on my calendar!

Fending off bears, HA HA I am a very light sleeper, so I got that handled. I did that 2 years ago. threw baby sides boulders at some a couple years back.

Frame up build? I sure hope you did a 790 conversion!!! I LOVE THE HELL out of mine.

    Ride up, have fun.

We should be in for this. Last year was fun, but we missed the Funky One in camp.

You riding the DR Big this year?

XXL and M long-sleeved, please. Thanks ever so much. :hide

Great. I have done about 5 or 6 days of real camping (no RV) in my 50+ years. Twice, Bears visited me! Slept about 3 minutes all night after being welcomed by a Black in Montana last year. Such a dork, I actually scared him off with the 'banging pots' trick, except I used what little I had, river shoes! A Brown would have eaten me.

Built the DR as a lightweight ADV rig. Love the XT1200 but, I have been in some marginal situations by myself and off-road (jeep trails). Rode the stock DR around the block, paid 2800. for it, took home and tore it down. Used Inmate advise and our known vendors for the build. ALL the usual mods but, no 790 kit, yet. Race Shop built me a cleaned-up head with SS valves and a JE piston. Anxious to finish and ride but, not cutting any corners, bike is sweet. Working on DR's is a lot of fun.

Anyway, think I will join you guys and hope I don't attract anymore Bears (scared of Deer too).

Unless I am dead, or in the hospital, I will be there, on a motorcycle. No idea what I'll ride. Now that I have the GS back in service.....i might even bring her.

I'm in. I'll be on my GS. I plan to ride dirts around the area. Probably head up West Prospect Peak on one of the days or maybe on the way home. I'll dig up some routes HopSing took us on a few years back at Altitude Sickness.

For real. Decent rider, total dork. Dogs like me, Bears too. Just lucky I guess.
