Lift is a Sears Craftsman....
I've been pretty delinquent with posting the 2012 CJ Designs Tech Weekend and Rider Training Workshop report. I'll get to it soon... Anyways, here's a few more pics to share:
Wayne thought it was CJ Designs Tech Weekend and Costume Party. You better save that one for Halloween!
Too much sun and too much sugar (and beer) are breeding some bad decisions...
What started out with studious individuals working hard on their bikes, taking notes, and learning new things...
... Devolved slightly into lots of laughs, storytelling, not-so-brilliant discussions about time travel, and broken furniture...
And Good Times!
Had a terrific time this year and met some really cool people!!! Thanks for everyone who helped out and for those who spent the weekend with Craig and myself. Looking forward to next year!
Sorry I don't remember your name but I do remember your neat bike cover. You said it was made in WI but, again, I don't remember where or by whom. I should write this stuff down. :huh I've looked but have not found one as good as yours.
If you read this post could you pass on the info please. Anyone else know what I'm looking for?
I think this is you. ???
Sorry this took so long to put together but better late than never.
I had over 500 pics from the weekend, this is around 200 in a slide show so it might take a bit to load.
I'm really looking forward to next year, and if you missed it shame on you, this was an awesome event!
Thank you Craig, Katie, and Joey the most and everyone else that made this possible.
How Many cc's is that in the field?
Big Air Diesel Joe
Craig Johnson, "The Man"
I think this is the first picture taken of me not falling at the CJDesigns testing site
Craig and Joe
For some reason this picture has a strange resemblance to this I thought.....
Glad you could make it up and what a wonderful collection of shots you got. Next year might be an extra Day..... Better get that trigger finger warmed up.
More from our collection soon.
Need one of these on the left side of the country.
Makes me want to invite CJ and play host......
Any chance you all want to do this again? I could really use some instruction, and your weekend looks like LOADS of fun!
Why Yes, we are doing it again this year, but at a different location and topic. We've gotten many requests to do something in the WEST so I thought this would be a perfect fit.
It will be in Steamboat Springs, CO the 2 days before the KTM National Rally
CJD Camp Tech 2013. More info can be found here: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=21017382&postcount=231
I'll be updating this thread on our event when I have final details set. It looks to be another great one!
Feel free to email or call me for more local events we may be doing this season.
Are you going to be coming up for the Meet and Great? http://www.advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=21025068&postcount=2122
Always good to talk with local riders.
Great you are doing it again...
Bummer it is in CO. I don't seem myself getting out there. I was really hoping to have something in this area. If you decide to do it in this area again....
And I can't come to this meet and greet. Hope to in the future.
Depending on how soon we can get our new place setup (we're moving next month :eek1) and the track prepped, we may try and do a spring get together. I'll post info on my BLOG as soon as the weather gets better.
Seeing as how winter didn't get the memo that Spring is here, we still have about 4-8" of snow in spots around the woods track. Not the best setup for new riders on big heavy bikes.
I may have an Early spring "INDOOR" riding season though. If we have enough interest maybe we could do a day of bike training if Joe and I are available.
Ned's Video's are great to check out while the snow melts away, if you're looking to check them out, let me know I have them here at the shop.
Link doesn't work. Can you post another?
Not sure why the link stopped working? Here's another.
You'll have the catch the next one.
We had a great time in CO at the 2013 Steamboat Roaming Workshop, even with all the rain. Thanks for all those that made it out and hung out under tarp with us. It was a great group.
We are kicking around the idea of doing a Spring "OPEN SHOP" event in May 2014 to kick off the NEW Shop. (dates TBD ~4-6 days long)
Workshop ideas are:
-Camping prep and packing
-Rider skills on a big bike
-GPS skills test training (using, following and making tracks)
-Women riders (guest speaker)
-local riding loops/events
We have room for camping or there is a hotel in town.
If we were able to get Jimmy Lewis out here for the event would riders be interested in his training?
May have 1190 R by then.
Had fun and learned a lot in Steamboat, but your "schedule of events" looks fantastic! I could get the Mrs. in
on the women's riding, Jimmy Lewis would be great, and I really like cheese!
Keep this one rollin', I'm sensing a road trip! Prizes for the farthest distance traveled?
I just looked, it's 1200 miles. Better get a better seat for Christmas.
I'm ready for a visit. Hope the weather is better than our last hangout. Can we have Taco Cabo flown in?
I can grab some on my way by
