Looks like the Isle of Man TT - great clip! Guys are pretty much nuts though. 3-10 people usually die each year - in 2012 I think it was 4 people that died and another bunch was severly injuried.

Don't get me wrong - if they want to do it it's their choice. You just have to realize that they are nuts... basejumping or bullfighting is probably safer!

Nah, more like one or two die at the Isle of Man TT, and mostly on Mad Sundays when they let anybody out on the track. Most of this footage is from Ireland. Note the group starts, these are not Timed Trials... Still, when they are riding in the rain, you know that all the guys more than three rows back in the group in that photo can't see anything... at 180mph!

I watched it again and you're right! I just assumed it was the TT because I'm used to seeing those riders there and the track kind of looked similar! And you're right - most of those guys that are killed are duing the mad sunday or other days.... But even counting that the "mountain course" still holds the absolute record for rider deaths by quite some margin!

And it's that weird combination of awe & fear that has people coming back I suppose.

Watch the movie "closer to the edge" about the TT if you haven't seen it. Pretty darn good!

Edit: Also - just FYI "TT" is "Tourist Trophy" but it's a time trial competion. Just so we're clear. :freaky

Fucking sold. Maybe not on Draggin Jeans if they don't have a style I like, but I was strongly considering riding jeans here to look like less of a douche for my rides into central and north Florida (which is pretty much pirate and conservative non-rider territory).

This sort of thing chaps my hide. GROSSLY irresponsible for the police to chase anyone for traffic violations. You have a camera, you have the tag, just let the person go and catch up with them later. Innocent people die from these sort of things.

Especially on a bike. The police officer put not only the public at risk but himself at risk, and for what? A highlight reel on YouTube?

Meet the Legend a local old timer whos is just that, a Legend. He has a clapped out old Sikk pit bike with Lifan 140 in it, he's been cuting local single track for years. When he's not on the Sikk he has an old XR200 missing a rear shock, he rides in gumboots and a hard hat usually. When he gets serious with a hill climb or really wants to haul ass he will tape the hard hat on with electrical tape. This man is amazing, I don't know how old he is but he outrides most guys on modern iron. I've watched him wander into the woods on a camping trip and come back out with a handful of magic mushrooms and regale us with stories for hours. He's towed a 1200# trailer full of scrap steel to the recycler nearly 100kms with the Sikk. I've seen him light a rag soaked with gas and toss it over the intake on that old 6.2 when whatever used oil he was burning for fuel was too cold to fire, he rocks. Long live the Legend!
