My partner in grime.
A good partner makes all the difference!
In the pic above you can see the stump of the tree that came down, cut close to the ground, and.......a couple 40-pound bags of potting soil. Denise created this new flower island early this morning:
A nice top-dressing with mulch is next. This should fill out nicely as the season progresses.
I sliced off about 250 miles today, most of it on the Parkway. Normally in mid-May we're on the lookout for one last hard freeze, but this weekend was near-record high temps, mid-80's-plus. Staying up on the Parkway is always good for at least 10-degree cooler temps as opposed to dropping down on the Piedmont.
I rolled over 30k on the Heritage this morning, a milestone I've been looking forward to photo-documenting for quite some time, but I spaced and didn't note the odometer reading until it registered 30,005; dangit! Oh well, I'm shooting for 40k now.

I enjoyed my two day trip thru the BRP last Thursday & Friday. Lovely area.
We are camping on 80 just up from Marion NC, had a couple of great days, but the rain has set in and it could be for a few days, we will do some stuff in the truck for now, it's still gorgeous even if it is raining.
Pics to follow when we get good service.
Cool, looking forward to your pix! That's some nice country where you're at. Have you made it up to Roan Mountain?
The weather has certainly turned to crap, and the ten-day forecast is officially "MORE OF THE SAME" - ugh.
I took a forced break from outdoor chores today and am installing new tires on my Heritage. The NoMar tire changer I bought in '16 has about paid for itself already, and I can take my time with the wheels de-tired and get them cleaned up and detailed (I'm presently "burnishing" the front brake rotor with an orbital buffer and Mother's mag polish). I've got a nice static balancer that Denise got me as a gift about a dozen years or so ago, so am pretty much self-contained now when it comes to mounting and balancing m/c tires.
Honestly I don't have many with the bike in them, but I have some hiking pics.
The last one was on the trail to Mt Craig, we had hiked from the campground off toe River Rd to the top of Mt Mitchell and went on and hiked over to Craig just to knock out the 2 highest peaks east of the Mississippi River, we had done them a few years ago but we had some friends with us who wanted to do them so we hiked with them.
It was one of the sunny days we had and that was nice.
