The only way to find out is sell it at a big bike auction say like the one in Vegas. Let's say if you shipped it back to Japan then you would be able to land 5 to 6 grand over there. Old bikes seem to worth far more over there then here. there is to few of these low mileage bikes left. As it is he stole it for under 2 grand . The draw back is the 2 year of production. Some things are dam hard to find for them. I wouldn't want to have replace any panels on one.

I also have the 1990 elite 250. I'm having someone make a windshield for me and I was wondering if you could measure the height of yours?

    Thx

Man that is sweet! I love the 89 Elite 250. I wander if the 89 is a bit faster than the 88s and under? It has a different horizontal style motor like the Reflex and Big Ruckus, so I wander if it is a bit faster or the same?

But I think it does look cool! We've had a couple beutiful condition models sell around $1,200 around here! Around here Craigslist prices truley go WAY up and WAY down at random times. It seems like they sell cheaper in the summer! I thought they were usually cheaper in winter.:dunno '

For example, a couple months back and you could have yourself a great running standard Elite 250 for as cheap as $600, and now they are up around $1,500+. Also same for most other bikes.

I didn't even know they made an Elite 250 like that. Only one I knew about is the boxy one.

Actually, all the Elite 250 engines are virtually the same as the Helix. The first gen Elite 250 had the engine upright, instead of flat like the Helix. When Honda redesigned the Elite, they used the same flat orientation, and floorboard fuel tank as the Helix, which allowed for the under seat storage space.

I'll buy it if you deliver it to S.E. Michigan , seriously if it were here close buy I would have already bought it . Those are rare and from what I hear much better that the 85 to 88 models .
Are you sure you want to sell it ? I wouldn't . :nono
Some day you will look back and say "what was I thinking"

Sorry Krusty, but you're wrong. The Helix has an upright engine like the 85-88 CH250. The 89 -90 250's have a horizontal engine that has some parts in common with the Reflex of 2004 through 7 or so.

I have managed to round up 2 90's from the mean streets of San Francisco. With some care and work and cleaning they look good and run great. For no reason I understand they seem faster then the 85-88 model. Parts are rare but they do come up from time to time on eBay. Like all these machines they are sturdy, well built and fun, and these newer models are better looking. The storage under the seat is great.

There were racks made for them in Japan, but I don't think they were ever imported into the US. There was one on eBay last month for $75, but I let it go because the scooter is just too pretty without it.

89 and 90 were economic recession years and $3300 was a lot of money. I doubt they sold 1000 of them in the US.

    Enjoy!

Don't know if all the '89 '90 Elite 250's had luggage racks or not, but mine with the factory top box has one and there are provisions on the frame to mount a rack.
