Finally picked out and got a bike- 2013 CRF250L. My mini-adventure bike!!

    Few questions about it-

    1) Dealer told me just to not pin the throttle WFO or the rev limiter, but everything else is fair game for break in...its got a 5 year warranty so I suppose this is ok...or is it?

    2) I intend to pickup Sedici Hotwired heated jacket liner and glove liners tomorrow...can my little 250s charging system handle it without mods?

    Pics very soon!

    Thanks guys!

The CRF250L seems like a nice bike, but I have not yet seen the kind of accessories you would need to turn it into an adventure bike (racks, panniers, larger gas tank, etc.)

Creativity and a gas can from the hardware store will take you far my friend.

Yup. My DR carries soft panniers, tank panniers, a tankbag, front fenderpack, 32oz fuel bottle, and a tooltube just fine...without using the tailrack or any sideracks. If I wanted to use a duffel instead of my topcase, I could just strap it to the rear fender and seat, between the factory grab handles. I'm pretty sure a CRF250L can do similar. I just recommend a front fender stiffener and an aluminum muffler heatshield (built my own for $20) for hauling the above stuff.
