Hey Scotty! How's it going? Any of those parts work out for you?
Something about that Hotel just does not look level? :huh
Maybe its just me or the pic or something. Denis you seeing it?
Couldn't happen to a better guy though; hope the apt. they set you up in is equally nice.
Doing good here. Filling up the inflatable pool now I ooze class.
Air filter looks perfect..........haven't had time to touch base with DC Rider on the levers. I could use a new clutch lever if one was in the box.
There were a few levers in the box and I think at least one of them should fit a KTM. Not certain though.
Hack, I think it's the way I took the pic. I tried to pull over but the car behind me wasn't digging it and there wasn't a real shoulder (i.e. the trash).
African Renaissance Monument
I have no idea what this is doing in downtown Dakar!
I also took some video with my iPhone of a kid doing some serious wheelies on a scooter. ATGATT was not in effect and he was hauling ass down the main road. I guess I need to kick my Smugmug account up another notch before I can post them though.
That's not a cheap piece of equipment. Maybe town was a shortcut to the farm?
EDIT: Nevermind, I just looked at a map...........
Hey Todd glad to see you made it. Be safe and have fun..
Thanks Steve. Looks like you guys had a great time at your place this past weekend. I wish I could have been there.
i'm thinking... "Tow this. "
A few observations so far:
Never drive in the right lane. Cabs drive in the right lane, drive slow and will stop at any time to pick up a fare. They also don't generally have working brake lights. If people have any vehicle problem at all, they just stop in the right lane. They could be fixing a flat, working on the motor or just chatting with their buddy on the sidewalk. It doesn't matter how many lanes there are or how fast the lanes are moving, people just stop when they feel like it.
The law of gross tonnage rules at street circles. Most folks here drive very small cars or mopeds and they generally yield at street circles. Buses don't yield to the circle and don't slow down coming into the circle, but they do honk.........when you piss them off!
There are crosswalks but pedestrians are well aware of the fact that they are at the bottom of the food chain. They will cross 4 lanes of traffic just about anywhere but they sure as hell won't cross when cars are coming. The same goes for dogs and goats.
Ever see a dog look both ways before crossing a street? African dogs do.
Apparently, Dakar has little biker gangs, only on Vespas!:huh They split lanes like crazy, run in packs and must do something to juice up those little motors because I've seen a few of them ride wheelies through traffic while standing on the seat. Think Baltimore or the 495 on a Saturday.............now reduce the cc's by about a thousand!
This dude had some great wheelies before I could get my phone out. There were three dudes on the other scooter filming him as well. Click on the pic and it should link you to the video on smugmug.
12 o'clock boyz..........
Ha! They're working on it but not quite ready for B'more just yet.
Just found out the bike should get here 13 Aug! no idea how long it will sit in customs though
Anybody looking for a sport bike? Probably get this one pretty cheap.
Here's one for ya:
is located right next door to this:
So as long as you don't get hit with the bitch slap of justice
You are good to go!
Cool pixs Todd...........keep em coming.
Thanks Scott. Man, do I wish I had a GoPro; you would love some of the stuff I've seen while driving around.
