After 11 years of lust....I have a 2013 990 ADV Baja in my garage. Seriously, I have searched CL, ADV, and ebay for a 950/990 for about 10 years. What I haven't searched for is what I do after I get it. Duhhhh

What the fuck do I do now....besides ride it. :1drink:ear

Seriously, where do I start for the necessaries?? Mojave road and Big Bear will be my break in areas. I'm thinking:

1: Bars - less sweep, wider grip, remount the mirrors.
    2. Pipes - FMF Q4 cans.
3: Canisterectomy - what the fuck?? You want me to do what!!! Really??
4: Bags - Soft and gentle, like your momma. 90% off road Which ones?
5: Naked Chicks - yessssss, preferably from the AVI Resort.
6: Stabilizer - Scotts under bar. Needed?
7: GPS - Garmin, but which one??
8: Skid Plate - Which one??

What do you guys recommend?? I have read through all available but what is the latest info on the above??

    Thank you!!

Just ride it. Try not to crash. You don't need bars. You don't need mirrors, you've already got them. Pipes? Whatever floats your boat. Practice your wheelies. Just get used to it and have fun.

+1. Ride and see what bothers you most. One thing, though. Get a side stand relocator. The side stands are mounted to the aluminum case, just like Ducati does it. One good hit on that thing and it can crack a case, and that will cost you thousands to fix. Black Dog Cycle Works makes one, and CJDesigns makes another. If you get a Weld86 bash plate, there is a side stand relocator that they make that is supposed to work well with the plate. I have the Weld86 bash plate and the BDCW side stand relocator. Both work well.

    Thanks for the replys!

I have the BDCW side stand relocator on it's way. Should have a couple hundred on it by the end of the weekend.

So stoked on the new ride!! Feels a lot bigger than my 525.

Got the 990 in the dirt for the first time today. Took her up to Santiago Peak.

I have been up to that peak several times on my MTB, but it way more fun this time!!!

The bike a great machine!! Looking forward to the adventures in the next few years!

Congrats on your bike. I'm loving my 990. My first mods will be the oil drain kit from CJ and a comfy seat.
