    From the link:

Yamaha saying via their press release, “Many existing mid-size adventure models are perceived as being too road oriented and too sophisticated, and are unsuited to real off road riding. The adventure world (excepting the USA) needs a new kind of motorcycle that can offer the genuine long distance versatility and pure durability of the original Ténéré, combined with contemporary design plus cutting edge engine and chassis technology.”

    My parenthetic inclusion.

As much as we all covet this thing of beauty, it won't show up on our shores in anything looking or performing like that. The anti off-road crowd is far too powerful to allow this. And of course, once the EPA and Carb compliant agencies are through, this will be a scooter with knobby tires.....hey wait, the other Japanese company is already doing that. See, I told you.

There was also three other concepts at the EICMA that might get some of us to move away from the Thumpers forum. The Honda Africa Twin Sports Concept, the new KTM LC8c 790 cc engine and the Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled.

PS. I removed the pictures from this post because Honda Europe doesn't want anyone to promote their products! They prevent hotlinking by displaying just the logo intead of the intended picture. Strange form of denying a free advertisement.

Find it funny; mostly positive response to this beast here in the Thumpers forum, yet still way too much whine and "but it's too tall" but, but, but over in the Beasts forum. Me, I love it. Like I said over in the other thread, don't dumb it down, add signals and mirrors, bring it to Canada and I'll have cash waiting. Me thinks it would make an excellent addition to the 501 and Hawk in the garage.
