I did a search, crash bars, engine guards has about 1100 results. I would like to know the type of finish on a 12 GSA set of OEM crash bars, paint, powder coat or something really different? I would like to powder coat them black is the reason for asking. Thanks for the help

I ordered TouraTech engine guards with the powder coated finish.
The mounting brackets came through in the original "stainless" finish so I sent them to the local powder coating shop to match the triple black theme on my 2012 R1200gs. It came out GREAT.

The all black theme is difficult to keep clean, but it looks good when all the mud is washed off. Black crash bars.

Here's my F800GS with the fog lights tucked inside the BLACK powder coated Givi engine guards.
So, The black finish is durable and looks good!

Don't know what the finish is but they did change it on the newer models. Personally, I thought it looked much better before when the engine bars matched the luggage racks.

I've done the rattle can of Hammertite Rustproof, full prep and taken down to the metal before staring.. twice to try to get it right. Then changed the color and had them blasted then powdercoated. What a waste of time with the rattlecans!

I'm "cheap as chips", So I thought the spray and work would have been better. I was completely wrong. Go Powdercoat!

Great. So a Bead blast will take it down to bare metal so they can be powder coated, is that correct? If they came powder coated from the factory it would have to be burnt off is my understanding.
