This time we went down to the area which borders with Egypt. The border demarcates two distinct deserts: On the Israeli side, the Negev desert and on the Egyptian side the Sinai. The plan was two full days and the night in between, which was a on the full moon. Desert riding on a full moon should definitely be on your bucket list...
On the first day the temperatures were still scorching, just over 100 F, so we made a slight change of plan and started at 6 pm for a 40 mile ride that went well into the night. There was a full moon and the area is mostly dunes so visibility is good and the falls aren't painful...
Here's a short video of the daylight part of the ride:

Day 2 was in completely different terrain. One of the cool things about the Negev desert is that in an area of only 30 by 30 km's you have a very wide variety of terrain and scenery. Rocks, dunes, single track, fast trails on dry riverbeds... the works. The last scene is a on a hard pack trail on the ridge of Kadesh Barnea, overlooking the Sinai desert. Beautiful, though the scene is much too short to capture the quality of the vista.

You can rent scooters, and occasionally the rentals have full sized bikes, but not something you can rely on.
There are a couple of advanced riding schools where you could probably get a one day guided course with an offroad bike and maybe you could convince them to do a guided tour. If you're interested I could give you a contact mail or phone number for inquiries but there's nothing like what's available in Europe or Costa Rica for example.
I know that there are a couple of European operators who rent bikes in Morocco. That's a great desert destination and they rent a variety of bikes including GS1200 Adventures.
