I know somebody racing there and speeds are UP there on the half mile. I rode through Frederick today with 2 FJR1300s, a full dressed Hog and a CBR600F4i. NICE day for a ride. Anybody going to Frederick races?

Barbara Fritchie is a distant relative of mine:deal
She was a feisty old lady with German decendents named Hauer which is my relation to her. I wonder if I get a discount on my ticket for this? :lol3

    July 6Th?????!!!!

Used to always be on the 4Th.

In the early 90s to 2003 if you saw a bunch on Nortons leaving after the race, it was to go to my house in Braddock Heights for BBQ and beer. We often had a few straglers that just wanted to see where the Nortons were going. We always welcomed them and feed them :freaky
Now that I've moved to AL, no one has taken over the tradition :cry

    Chris,
I am planning on going and you should also go!
I went out for a quick and dirty hooligan ride through the back of Best Buy tonight, crested a blind hill and sunk my front end into a 2 ft deep hole:clap The XR was down but still running:lol3 and God bless the little dirt whore for that! I turned around and cruised through Loch Raven for an evening sunset and seriously thought about calling you but didn't want to get you in trouble for diaper truancy:eek1 Myself and at least one friend are planning on going to the flat track and the more the merrier. I'll take the FJR with pillion in tow and you should ride with us! I'll let you take a spin on the FJR. How are the twins?!!! :baby :baby

Sounds like a noble nose dive! The twins are great, crawling and getting crazy. I will put the races on my calendar. Looks like fun, and checking out the FJR would be very cool.

I suspect--but don't know--that it was a scheduling issue. There's an AMA Pro Racing "Grand National" Twins race on the 4th in Topeka, KS. Even though the BFC is part of the Hot Shoe Series and not the major championship, it still draws much of the same crowd. Last year's BFC featured Jared Mees, Dan Gedeon, and Paul Lynch, for example. The BFC organizers probably couldn't risk running on the same day, is my guess.

Fantastic photos. Jared Mees went down at Maryville and took Sammy Sweet with him. He got up with a person under each arm, by the time he was half way to his bike he was walking alone, got right back on the bike. Did I understand it correctly that Sammy Sweet had a career ending injury in 1987 and is now back at it again?

I went to the races. I was pretty impressed, I had never been to one before. I really enjoyed watching the 450's. Some 90lb girl took the 450 main.

I heard there was bad wreck in the heat races and one guy went to the hospital but I got there late, not sure exactly what happened.

Glad you could make it! Hagerstown on July 26. :deal

Shayna Texter. She's a racer. :nod

Multi-bike crash in Turn 1. One guy wasn't moving initially but eventually he rolled over and took his helmet off. The medical crew spent a lot of time with him on the track before loading him onto the ambulance. I can't find any news reports yet.

The local tv channel was there.
