I've had them a few years, one of the first things I did was a 10' burn out on them. I'm riding with them.

Good on ya mate - I pulled a new K70 out of 15 year storage and it was a great tyre, nothing wrong with it.

I run an MT53 that is a fresh 30 or so years old on the front of my street tracker Yamaha TT540. Not exactly the greatest tire, but gets the job done. And, makes dirt roads fun for the occasional blast down them.

I've just looked in my tyre rack, and I see I have a virgin 3.25x19 MT53,that must come from the early '80's.I don't have anything with a 19in front wheel anymore.

I set my R65 mono up as a streetracker as I use it on gravel roads,I find this a better set up for these roads than an adventure bike. With the standard tyres the bike pushes the front, but with 4.00x18 tyres front and rear (K70) the bike has an oversteering feel on seal...that feels more natural to me than pushing (understeer). It also means I can lean on the front tyre a lot harder - the riding style becomes toss it in hard and late, and get on the gas early...seems to suit me.

I followed your advice and the little mono airhead does very well on loose dirt, gravel, and moderate dunes.

    Yeah ... dunes.
