    Cheers HyperPete.
Chewed up an Anakee2 on the rear in only 4500km.
( Apparently it was unbalanced, only wore out one half of the tyre.)
Just fitted an Anakee 3 so I'll see how that goes.
Some more pics as requested :

Great TR thanks for posting. Just a hint I find it much safer for helmets to get hung on the mirror rather than low side bar - learnt that the HARD way :(

If the black duffle bag is heavier than the small one I've found it best to run that fwd so as to better balance the DR. Might not work for you and is only a suggestion.

I loved the Flinders and cant wait to get back there. Thanks again for the TR.

    G'day XRman,

The rest of my photos are much of the same. I didn't take many photos of individual places. ( I've got some of our camp sites in various states of setup.)

Here's how we spent our time:

Couple of days kicking back with a book around camp. (Peace and quiet with great scenery.)

Trip to Blinman then through Parachilna Gorge. Fuel stop at Angorichina, looked at Parachilna pub home via Brachina Gorge and Stokes Hill lookout.

Trip to Wilpena Pound for a look at how the other half live and a coffee then home via Pugilist lookout.

Another trip to Stokes Hill lookout so my mate could do a SOTA activation.

Day trip to Blinman for a counter lunch and the copper mine tour.

    This trip was pretty relaxed.

    Cheers,
    Brutal.

    G'day Panhead_Pete,

I get lazy with the helmet sometimes, I agree the mirror is the better option. ( Might be force of habit from riding bikes with no mirror.) The chin vent on this Fly Trekker is suffering from a 'slipped off the bars' incident.

I'm still experimenting with bag positions. It's a trade off between weight distribution and comfort. (Being six foot two has its disadvantages.) The current layout lets me slide back on the seat giving me a few riding positions for those 700km plus days. I agree it's preferable to keep the weight forward. (Closer to the swingarm pivot.) My tyre wear was odd. The rear wore out on a bit over a third of the circumference. The rest of the tyre was only half worn. ( Like I'd managed to flat spot one third of the tyre.) The guys that fitted the tyre said that it was unbalanced. (They balanced it when it was fitted.) I'll give the Anakee 3 a workout and see how it goes. It's already had a play on gravel, granite sand and bitumen.

Any Michelin reps out there? I need a pressure recommendation for the Anakee 3 on the DR. (Currently running 24 psi.) How wide should the contact patch be? ( Tyre is 120/90/17. )

    Hi Brutal,
Great RR, The Flinders Ranges must be the best Adventure Ride area in Australia.

First I reckon this is the first ever RR which includes the Flinders Ranges and doesn't have a photo taken from Razorback lookout in Bunyeroo Valley.
    So here is one!!

Next a question. On your first day did you do any dirt or just slab it?
If you have an off road route for this I would love some more details.
PM me if you've got anything.

Checked out your RR looked like a great trip.

    I reckon I must've scored a defective tyre.
I destroyed two Deathwings on the rear on my Nullarbor trip earlier this year. They didn't like 115km/h on the bitumen from dawn to dusk for four days in a row. Killed one going over and one coming home. ( Including some touring while I was in W.A.)
