Hi, I need some maps for my new android for south Australia. Preferably the Flinders area but also all of south Australia is needed.

If anyone has or can point me in the direction of some. Ecw or ozimap files that would be great.

I downloaded the 250k Ecw maps from geoscientific Australia but the file is to large to open on mantilla and to large to convert from Ecw to ozimap

I am completely new to this so your help will be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Matt

I stumbled across the free Nokia app "Here" the other day. it has an off line maps option so you can use your phone as a GPS when out of range . Check it out.

What program and how much storage do you have @adv400e?

I'm running OziAndroid on a couple of devices with maps running off an sd card.

The geoscience 250k mosaic makes a good base map but it's 1.8gb. The section zone 54 is 0.5gb
Hema's maps are a lot smaller. The Great Desert Tracks files all look to be below 10mb

I ended up getting the hema app. Was brilliant on my recent Arkaroola/Flinders trip. Cost me around $30.

I have a Sony Xperia z3 with 32gb but may upgrade to a 64gb card.

I'd consider a standalone gps soon though
