We've got three riding out from Los Angeles early Wednesday, returning Sunday. If we get a heat wave, we may puss out and trailer, but the current plan is ride. My buddy and I both suffered heat exhaustion on a desert dirtbike ride last month, and I'm not really excited to relive that...

Awesome. Sounds like we can ride together then on Thursday. I know the way to Toroweap if you want to do that one, or do it Friday with a larger group (larger group=more delays though). I also wouldn't mind doing all new trails too. Jesse says he has some great tracks this time that are higher in elevation.

If you trailer and have room for a big fat bike and (slightly fat) rider, let me know. I may be going with another inmate but he's not 100% sure what he's doing right now. I may even ride up with my street tires and send my knobbies up with someone else. If I do ride though, I'm definitely going EARLY to avoid the heat.

Bought one of these: TechNiche Deluxe Evaporative Cooling Vest with Sleeves - FREE SHIPPING!

I definitely needed this on the way there and back but not particularly for the riding we did while there.

Yeah, let's do Toroweep on Thursday for sure, I'm more of a small group type anyway. If we do trailer, I'm going to get real creative just to get three bikes on there...it's more of a MX sized trailer.

    In, out, in, out.

Sorry but it turns out I don't have the vacation after all. My company waits a pay period to deduct any vacation I used (Baja) so I thought I had 21.22 hours to use for this trip but I only have 5.22 hours. I'm flying out Sunday for Hawaii with the kids and would have to come back on Saturday to make that and a half day Friday just aint enough time.

I couldn't afford to do all these cool rides if I wasn't on welfare.

Hm. 525 or 800... Decisions, decisions. The Utah riding is big bike stuff but we are headed to CO after the rally and that is more small bike stuff, though I can manage on the GS if I have good tires.

GS is harder to load in the truck. kTM will probably explode or overheat the second day of the ride though. The BMW has been bulletproof for 21k miles.

I should be there thursday mid day. Save a spot in the woods for my big tundra and my popup camper.

Also I have a bed free in the camper. If you are a 23-38 year old girl, it is free. If you are a guy, it is $20 per night. If you are an old, smelly guy it is $40 a night. If it rains, is cold, or your tent blew away in the wind, it is $100 a night.

    Haha. See u all there!
