Just bought an 89 r100gs from a fellow inmate..... nice ride, except the foot pegs seem a bit "thin and small" to me.

The "Pivot" pegs seem to be popular..... please give me your thoughts.

My riding style: this bike will be ridden less than my 1150 - trail riding and country roads. Not far from home.

A larger footing is my mail concern...... but the "pivot" action seems cool, and would be a good way to test it out for possible use on my 1150 GSA.

    Thanks for the advise!

Haven't tried the Pivots, but the Fastways I have are nice. If you have big feet like me, be aware that these wider pegs will make it a bit harder to shift, but the Pivots would help with that. Also, on long trips a bit of rubber is a blessing, so I made a "cap" for my pegs by cutting up and gluing together some rubber from an old pair of slippers... ah much less vibes

I've got Pivot Pegs on Gus, and they have been excellent. The stock serrated pegs absolutely destroy your feet if you are riding standing for any length of time. I didn't need to modify any levers.

I've seen the existing titchy footpegs modified by attaching mountain bike pedals, and these end up looking like the expensive ones shown here.

If you are handy with a welder it's not hard to weld up steel strap (file in some serrations) around the outside of existing pegs.

Fastways are an off the shelf solution, & Pivot Pegs are wider still & give some additional benefits. There are also SWT pegs, which are wider & give some drop down off the stock pegs. Depends on the depth of your wallet :D
