The plan is, there is no plan. Only the meet up and start point. I want to go to Boulder and start in Gold Hill and work South. My plan is to hit 93 up to Boulder, head up to Gold Hill, get on the Switzerland trail, and start working my way South. I was thinking Central city over 'Oh my god' (virginia canyon) road to Idaho springs, Squaw Pass, Evergreen, Platte river rd, Deckers, etc..... Might be muddy and dusty but it should be fun.

I live in Boulder, close to Table Mesa and Broadway (93). Want to swing by the South Side Walnut Cafe and have a Boulder meet up.

That might work out. I will look into it as this gets closer.

I might be able to join in too. I can show you some fun stuff off the of the Switzerland Trail, if you're interested. There is also a great back route south from there, just east of the Peak-to-Peak; an alternative way to get down towards Golden.

I always love different routes. That will be great if you can come along! I am looking forward to this ride. It's been a while since I have been in that area.

I could be up for it. What to ride? 990 (stock scorps)? or will it be some tricky single track? I gotta get some dirt time on the 990.... Of course, there are feet of snow up there now!

Let me know. I was going to take the F800GS (stock scorps) but I also have the DRZ400, it's just not put together right now.

I might be able to join you guys. I did some of those trails on my F800GS about a month ago with very few issues, just a bit of snow. That being said, we have had a pretty white spring so far! Trying to get my KTM 530 street legal this week, as that is always a bit more of an aggressive ride :D

Keeping it in mind. We have lunch meetings on Tuesday and sometimes visitors. Will keep watching the thread. I have a xr650r too which is street legal, but getting dirt time on this 990 is important. Want to do a long back country this summer. 990 is fine with me, just wondered about tight single track (I'd be slower..) or needing knobs.

What's the word on a meeting spot for the Boulder crew? Switzerland Trail is in good shape finally.

If you have a spot in Boulder to meet up let me know. I was just going to top off with fuel and head out. whiskeyandbikes mentioned the South Side Walnut Cafe. I'm guessing at that time it will take about 30 minutes give or take to get up there from the south side meet-up at the Morrison Conoco. Leaving at 7:30 from there.

I am taking the F800GS if that helps anyone else on deciding which bike to take. No single tracking for me on that one, I don't have all the crash accessories yet... It's new (but I'm not)...

Looks like it is going to be a beautiful day!

Cool. I will be out front on a dr650. There is not a gas station on that corner anymore. South Side Walnut Cafe is the same parking lot as the Savers, west side of 93 just before Table Mesa.

Here is the route I had in mind...

    MAP

For the Boulder folks, you can work it out for a meet up time but we will be coming through around 8:00 and will meet up with you here at the South Side Walnut Cafe. I figure we can head out from there and top off before going into the canyon.

I'm afraid I'm out; other commitments. By the way, this looks almost identical to the route we did Sunday, but in the other direction. Maybe a glitch in the mapping, but it looks like there a two places where you start to head off on backroads, but then re-trace to main roads: One at Switzerland Trail above Gold Hill, and again at the beginning of Oh My God (Virginia Canyon) above Central City.

Google maps didn't like the back roads... It should be fixed now.
