    Step-daughter of several years now.

She's addicted to riding with me on the bike. We've decided to let her have one of her own by the end of summer. (Vintage CB350)

The bonding the two of us have earned through the bike has been priceless.

8 months and counting. Who knew you could love a child so much?!?

Great thread. :clap Kudos to you all who have taken trips with your daughters, or are teaching them the skills to ride. I hope to do both someday, when she's older, and when my wife gives consent. Must keep peace in the house for now......

dude, this photo brought tears to my eyes. The blanket on her lap, her head on your shoulder, not sure if it was posed, or if someone with a quick eye just grabbed a camera.

    Definitely have that one framed!

I've got to get me a shot like that.

The other day I called my wife and she shared a story about our 18 month old son. At the time I called he was sitting in his high chair with a bowl of popcorn, a motorcycle magazine, and an interesting look on his face. My wife said he would eat some popcorn, turn the page, eat some popcorn turn the page. When he would see a bike like mine he would point to the bike, say brroomm brroomm and yell da da. I guess all those times sitting on the motorcycle have really meant something to the little guy. I have two other children who have been riding for about two years already. My oldest just got his first motorcycle and loves every minute of it.

My baby turns 14 tomorrow, and other than time on the bike, wants almost nothing to do with me.
Thank God for riding and the time it gives us with our girls!

Here's my oldest step daughter running a RC crawler course. step son is tall kid to the right. She's only been for a ride once on my bike for a short time, but that was quite the accomplishment. She just turned 16 and doesn't share the joy of the outdoors that I do but she likes to go along every now and then.
And while they've only been around for around a year and a half, I do think of them as my own. The 14 year old girl already wants a bike, of course I am thinking she figures that's a quicker way for her to drive. A catch-22 there.
3 ready made teenagers are quite the handful, especially for a hermit like me, but I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.

My little one turned three this summer. She is a bit small for her age. I taught her to start my old Honda Cub at around 10 months. She will rev to the 13.5k limit on my bike and just grin from ear to ear! She has a little open-face helmet and sits in front of me on my Ninja. She is silent and still when riding. I watch her in my blind spot mirrors, closing her eyes and feeling the air over her face. As a baby, before she was talking much, she would see bikes in traffic and say "daddy" thinking that they were all me.

When weather is nice, we go around our neighborhood. The loop is around 3-4 miles and 30mph limit, low traffic. She gets grumpy if we don't ride every weekend. She will go to the garage and slap the tank, yelling "ride daddy's bike!" Sometimes mom hops on the back and we head to the park, that's a sight!

I can't wait until she can wrap her arms around my waist so she can ride on the back, that means longer rides! I always try to ride like she is on the bike with me, keeps me sane. She still relies on me to keep away the monsters at night...

Did Paulie and Christopher spend a night in some abandoned van near there, eating ketchup packets and tic tacs?

Here's my daughter coming home from the hospital last night. Her older brother (he's 6) and I had our first outing on the bike a couple weekends ago. We didn't know if it was going to be a boy or a girl but I'm soooo happy to have my girl now!!!! :evil

It's going to be a bit before I can get a proper riding pic here but we'll be back. :D
