And that my friend, is what its all about.
Found this thread again - it's still alive. Here's my contribution!
One of my favorite photos; taken just below Webster Pass in Colorado.
What a great day!
The youngest of five
....and now, testing the lenght of my first granddaughter. Yes, she fits!
(don´t worry, just testing)
Be good to your daughters they grow up to be mothers and then we take our sons riding with us! It's the great circle of life!
Getting ready to go...... my 16 yo daughter, Guss on the Wee Strom..
Proud dad, and wonderful daughter, heading towards home......
My daughter getting a mechanical lesson on my well-used Laverda triple:
What he said.
Mag has been riding with me since she was 4 years old. We have done several poker runs on the dirt bike together. She knows how to hold on!
When we take the V-Strom on an adventure now she takes some great pictures and has a blast.
However she doesn't always like to have her picture taken.
The obligatory road trip fruit pie!

When I was in college I rode a 1976 Yamaha RD400 (two-stroke). During this time my girlfriend (wife of five years now) had a little experience with riding her brother's dirt bike. I encouraged her to get a motorcycles learners permit. The first street bike she rode was my 1976 RD400. I graduated in 2002 and the bike has been sitting since. Our daughter (first child) is nine months old now and my wife and I do not ride as much as we used to.
I got a wild hair and spent a Saturday afternoon tinkering with the old RD. After sitting for over six years, the trusty old two stroke started second kick! After calling my wife to the driveway to listen to the sound of the same bike I rode in college, my wife suggested that we give our daughter her first ride.
How fitting? The same bike we rode two-up when we were in college, the same bike my wife used to ride on the street for the first time would be the bike our daughter takes her first ride with. I was excited.
You guys be careful on that old RD. I have a '77- been sitting since '97. Every summer i say i'm gonna get it running.....
Thx for the pix.
It all started with dirtbikes about 8 or so years ago. Here she is on her XR70. After that she progressed quickly to an XR100R, and then was seen flying around on my XR200R. She can't touch the ground, but that doesn't seem to stop her
Last Columbus Weekend, my daughter and I and two riding buddies did an all day Fall Foliage Loop through the Adirondacks. This was taken at a stop in Blue Mt Lake, at the intersection of Rt 30 and Rt 28.
She has her permit now, and is signed up for the MSF Basic Rider Course in April.
Kermit is her mount. This is a shot of her finding the bike in the garage. I got it used. 2008 with 19 miles on it.
Good thing she has not asked for a zebra paint job yet!
Many more adventures planned for the spring!
My daughter, Idea Girl and I on our first ride together today.
My middle kid is "The Daughter" as I like to call her. Her two brothers are both sides. Wish mine was into biking, but it's not to be. She's off at FSU (Go 'Noles!) graduating this May. What a blessing to have your daughter want to ride with you like that... great post!
Good thing you didn't get your divorce here in Florida, or you'd be riding with her on a friggin' used scooter. It'd be the only thing you could afford! LOL...
