Great to see you guys enjoying the down east experience. Deb must be particularly happy being back home. Are you going to be able to drag her (reluctantly) back to the prairies?

Am off on a trip to Minnesota with a buddy tomorrow... if I can get my act together and finish packing.

If she could, she would keep us right here. She loves the East coast and its not hard to see why, very laid back and friendly people everywhere. I was smitten with PEI, I must say its a place that seems to have it all. Pleasantly surprised the affordability of everything out East, does not cost a lot to holiday here!

Might be passing your place...or at least trying to again...on Wed. Weather doesn't look very good for the next couple of weeks, so I'm sure if the bike doesn't break again, it will be a crappy trip weather wise :huh

I had a lovely time meeting Bwokentoof (Oliver), and his wife Michelle (as well as his son, whose name escapes me right now) in Williamsford ON. We did not get to go kayaking after all - as the waters on Georgian Bay were too choppy for a rank amateur like me - but I was well taken care of nonetheless...What a delightful couple they are!!!

Today I rode to Erinsville ON, to hang out for a couple of days at the End-of-Day Acres - the home of our friends Dawn and David...I arrived her around 6:30, and will be enjoying their hospitality for a couple of days - getting mentally prepared for the rest of the journey to the east coast...

From here on in I will be entering unknown territory (at least for me), as I will be riding the north shore of the St. Lawrence - then the Gaspe Peninsula and the Bay of Fundy.....After that, I will return to the Cabot Trail to do it counter-clockwise, and then back to the mainland to see my friend Sue in Aylesford NS...

Hopefully, at some point, Brian and John might catch up with me...then again, they might not...we wiii see...

The roads on both sides of the St Lawrence River are pretty nice riding...although a bit strange riding 80-90km/hr, with the houses so close to the road!

I rode through a torrential rainfall and windstorm going through there last time, and flattened a cat. Didn't see it until the last minute.

    Poor kitty.

Reminds me of an Eric Bogle tune...

Somebody's Moggy by the side of the road
Somebody's pussy who forgot his highway code
Someone's favorite feline who ran clean out of luck
When he ran onto the road and tried to argue with a truck
Yesterday he purred and played in his pussy paradise
    Decapitating tweetybirds and masticating mice
Now he's just 6 lbs of raw minced meat that don't smell very nice
    He's nobody's Moggy now

Oh you who love your pussy be sure to keep him in
Don't let him argue with a truck the truck is bound to win
And upon the busy road don't let him play or frolic
If you do I'm warning you it could be CAT-ostrophic
If he plays out on the roadway I'm afraid that will be that
There'll be one last despairing MEOW and a sort of squelchy SPLAT
And your pussy will be slightly dead and very, very flat
    He's nobody's Moggy
Just red and squashed and soggy
    He's Nobody's Moggy now
    Ooohmm

A fine song, with a great story to accompany it...

Sorry about the color for the link...I can't figure out how to change it to something more visible...

Sorry I missed the whiteshell run, but a good friend I don't see very often was in town and we had already made plans.

I was out to Edmonton again, this time with my truck, and I picked up the old 1950-something James 125cc 2-smoke. Over all it seems in decent condition, the lack of a front end notwithstanding, and it still had oil in it to leak out on to my tarp.

Right now the tentative plan is to let the powersports instructor at Winnipeg Tech take it on as a class project, just to get it back together, since I've neither the time nor the talent for this sort of thing. My notion is to get it put into safe operating condition and to leave the original finish as-is. I much prefer leaving the history of such things intact, if possible, especially since it's a family heirloom of sorts.

I have a few pics but they are on my iphone and I can't be arsed to transfer them right now :p

Took the strom out for a short ride tonight to test out the modified windshield...keep cutting it down and reshaping it and I think it's as good as it's gonna get now....can ride at 100k with the visor open and not too boomy with it closed now.

What a beautiful night for a ride south down 75 to St Adolphe.

Friday off to Millville MN to watch MX National. Hope Dungey can pull off a home track win and get closer to Villo in the point standings.

Unfortunately, I think Dungey blew it when he couldn't stay on the bike in the second last race...you can't give Villipoto any advantage. That said, I'm still cheering for Dungey! Enjoy the race, should be a good one!

Hi Everyone, not sure if i should have started a new thread for this or not. I am living in Kenora (checked in on the Northern Riders Thread). I sold my 99 f650 and i am looking for a twin.

I was in contact with a sales person at Wildwood about their bikes. Just wondering if anyone bought new from them, their experience, if they came down from MSRP etc etc..

    THANKS

Sure it was a KLR and not one of these:

I know there was a guy on a Gran Canyon passing through, would have been in the area at that time.
