So Im wanting to send my front forks on the 450 EXC out for re-valving and rebuilding. I am looking at Stillwell Performance or Dick's racing. Any feed back pro or con on either place? Not looking to start a war just looking for actual experience reviews from one you have used. Since Slavin is retired I need an alternative.

Dirtdad had Stillwell do his, Mtech has Dicks suspension on his 300, both bikes felt pretty good to me, you might want to PM them.

    Hey Rick,
I had Stillwell redo three of my bikes last year and i'm pretty happy with them.

Enduro Spec in Parker, Colorado. They have done 2 of my bikes. Did full suspension on my 450sxf. I use it for off road and he did fantastic work. Best suspension I have ridden. Way faster than sending it to one of the bigger guys, too.

I've been really happy with what Stillwells did with my 300 XC-W. I think from the time I shipped them the forks to the time I got them back was maybe 2 weeks, and that was last march.

It was kinda spendy but the bike handles very well and I can tweak it for Rampart riding to psychotic single track riding pretty easily with a couple clicks either way.

I also took our bikes to Warren at Enduro Spec. Nice guy. From what I heard, Slavens sends his customers to Warren since he's not in the business any more.

You might give him a shout so see what you think.

I think that you need to figure out what you want before you request service. The stackup is way different for a desert racer than a trail bike. I used motopro many times. John always gave me what I wanted. But I had to set the preload and oil level once the bike was returned.

I was happy with Stillwell, transformed the handling of the bike, for the desert. For rocky technical stuff not the case. Hard to have the best of both worlds. I rode mtech1950's bike with Dick's suspension work, and it
felt the best. I did tell Stillwell I rode mostly in the desert, so he set it up
accordingly. Been hearing good stuff about Motolab in AZ.

If I was going to choose between the two I would go for Dick's.

I have 2 bikes that Stillwell's done... one that's been re-done by Warren / EnduroSpec.

All my subsequent work has gone to Warren.

My favorite part of using Enduro Spec is having Warren be so available. He is at most of the local events and I have even met him at a riding area to drop my stuff off for work.

He tests his own settings and uses what he finds to work the best. He does all the work himself, not an employee setting up your suspension from a chart in a manual. YMMV, but I won't use anyone else. Judging by all the Enduro Spec stickers I see, he's got quite a following.

Thanks all, I have decided to use Dick's. Sent the forks out this AM, I will let you know how it all turns out. In the end I think the forks will look better with a DICKS sticker on em :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl Im kidding....

I used kreft for my zokes/ohlins on my gas gas just because he was local and had tuned a couple of gassers. I am very happy with his work. My pace has picked up so much from the superb suspension that I need to send them back to have them stiffened up.

The previous owner had sent the suspension out three previous times and was never happy with the setup. I rode the suspension for two years before having them redone. Kreft worked them over and they are 100% improved.

He speacilizes in wp suspension and I have no reservations in recommending him.

Jon B just got his back from Kreft. We'll see this weekend. But, his main reason for going with Adam is that he's done a lot of work on the 4CS forks. He has a proprietary adjustable mid-valve, which has been written about in either Dirt Bike or Dirt Rider. [IMG]
