I think plan on no one helping you out of your wilderness predicament you put yourself in, and anything else is a bonus.
I see you have your own ride named after Bob
Agreed. I think it is in Northern New Mexico. And I'm stoked that my search area is ABOVE NM 64...
What? Why would you want this thread closed? You have to expand on your post.
Personally, I think the idea of the Fenn Treasure is a good one. I do believe that it exists. It has inspired me to get out at least twice and explore parts of this country I probably would have never have seen had it not been for the hope of coming home with a bronze box and a wax sealed olive jar. I think the hunt has been an overall positive experience for most involved in it.
As an ER nurse, I see bad things happen to good people everyday. This can be through their own actions, or by the fault of someone else. People are surprised when they find out I ride motorcycles. They ask me how I can be an ER nurse and ride. I explain to them that ER nurses are the ultimate pragmatists. We see people killed doing everyday things, like walking their dogs or commuting to work. I explain that life is short, and that none of us get out of here alive. Always say, "I love you" to your loved ones and don't go to bed or leave angry. How we spend our time here and what we choose to do with the time we are given is what life is all about. It is tragic that 2 people have died looking for this treasure. But how many people have LIVED by looking for it. Hand up here. Being in Northern New Mexico made me feel alive. Getting away from the daily bullshit and people and traffic of the Bay Area always makes me feel better. Be it climbing or camping in Tahoe, motoing up the Pacific Coast, or looking for a lost treasure, living life is where its at.
That being said, I would like to see an end to the hunt. I would like to see someone come out with the box, preferably me... I don't think the search needs to be ended, nor do I think that this thread needs to be closed. Of course, that is my $0.02. Be safe out there people.
Hey, I'm going there too! Let's meet up and go in together. I'll bring the beer.
The harley shops are full of want-a-bees and bad boys.
If Bob showed up at my house it would be an honor to share the NM backcountry with him.
Beemer Bob is still travelling from Texas to NM and Colorado. He is recently married and takes his sidecar motorcycle with him on trailer trips
Sounds like he no longer needs a guide.
Yeah, he just follows Grey Goose now wherever he goes
The wife is along to navigate for him
Josh Gates on Expedition Unknown TV show is now going over the Forrest Fenn story and looking for his treasre and the people in the area where it might be such as northern NM. Had a nice shot of the Gorge. This show was done in 2015 so no deaths discussed.
Here tis online
I found Fenn's Treasure.
It is in Norther Nuevo mehhico.
It is a Wonderful feeling, exercising one's sensations,
In the great out of doors and breathing
air, instead of sitting on your ass
Binge watching net-Felix and eating ice cream.
Every one should try it, it is rewarding. ODC.
P.S.A. Please don't be brain dead when experiencing the Great out of Doors.
Money motivates people to "earn a living" but many wake up one day and realize they lost sight of the forest through the trees having actually spent most of their lives "making a dying"... "I'll take mid-life crisis for 100, Alex" !!!
So these deaths could simply act as an accelerated timeline of the lives many of these folks were going to live anyways.
I guess my real point is never lose sight of the true end goal. If these folks died chasing adventure, they died happy in spirit if nothing else. If they died chasing money, that is most unfortunate indeed...they could have just been working professionals contributing to Social Security for decades like the rest of us with the same results!
I like the way you Think.
What do you see as the blaze? If it was the blaze, you would have found the goods...
Will be swinging by here on Sat !
It's not there I scoured everything for a square mile.
Great Place to soak though.
There is another hot spring north, just saying.
I always figured around Arroyo Hondo, but can't say more than that...
