In certain zones you can't walk 10 feet without someone trying to peddle either drugs and hookers. And there is some serious street poverty here.
But I gotta be honest, it beats where I'm heading in AZ. A surburbia of rows of houses and nothing of interest for miles. At least here it's entertaining and interesting. And warm of course haha

Valley of the sun(Phoenix) is always way warmer than Nogales! Nogales is a lot higher.

I need warmth. Even 40 celsius & 90% humidity in Palenque seems attractive haha

It looks exciting (re: your pics of Nogales).
I've seen pics of those cookie cutter rows of boring houses you're referring to, little boxes made of ticky-tacky, all the same... pretty weird people find that preferable to the diversity and color typical of Latin America.

The wood stove is a life saver for sure. But i wouldn't miss it if i could live somewhere heat wasn't necessary!

Montezuma's Castle is pretty neat - as is Montezuma's Well - There are things to see here, certainly.

It appears @goodcat is likely to be spending Christmas south of the border - have a good one mate.

What's a good cigarette and beer down there since the "best" (ie Canadian) may not be available?

Also, you still carrying the Tequila?

Well, if it's anything like my US - Uruguay comparison years ago, the Uruguayan cigarettes (Nevada) were far superior. Will be interesting to see what Shawn has found.
