Never saw an El Camino in NZ back in the day, but lusted after one after reading Dirt Bike mag and Super Hunky's very funny words about their EC.

Have seen a couple lately and I reckon they're a fine looking machinne.

The ute became so popular here because it was an excellent light work and load carrying vehicle while offering the comfort of a car. A good compromise vehicle.

That is at the National track in Budds Creek Md at a vintage race earlier this month. They have a mini class as well and that is my son and I on CRF150f's, which is a lot of fun!

From a recent trip around the East Cape, North Island, NZ.

Might have left the trip on the beach a little late. 10 mins later I wouldn't have made it. As it was I needed to ride through some waves.

That scene looks all too familiar to me from days gone by. Including the pushrod stuck in the little tophat thingy that fits in the throwout bearing. :evil

Sorry to dump a bunch of pics at once, but I have been super busy, and have not had a chance to post in quite a while.
My nephew, and I have been working on putting an aluminum V-8 into his little Nissan 240SX. this is his first car project, so it has been fun seeing him do so many things for the first time, like using the lathe to build these motor mounts.

I recently made an aluminum tank for a customer. it's not exactly a piece of art (like a hand hammered Manx tank) but it turned out pretty good.

I am finishing a sub frame, exhaust, battery box, ETC. for another customer. I am kind of liking the looks of it, so thought I would post a few pics.

Holy crap those are pretty. It's been tough enough to find someone around here to do a little aluminum welding ... and I'm not even super picky about the pretty welds .... ('cause I'm one HELL of a grinder :D )
