Thanks Mick, I really appreciate all the info you are posting.
If you are a robot, android, cyborg or even just have a pacemaker, stay the hell away from me. It won’t end well for you.
Having a pebkac week?
So I use this Thing-ah-ma-bob to place my orders at the shop.
I send them in on Tuesdays and have a 6:30 pm window to get the order placed for that week.
I spend about 5 hours working on that, over the course of the day. Tuesday it just stops working around 4:30, the home stretch. I had type the order in to the computer, at the desk, line at a time in under 2 hrs. Inconvenient and stressful but not impossible.
Wednesday, the PC that saved me Tuesday is just plain dead. And the shopping for a replacement begins. PCs don't have these on the back anymore.
Today. I come in this morning, turn the lights on and the breaker for the front lights pop. So everyone loves playing in a circuit box.
P.S. Had to Google pebkac, and went wth the HP.
Wow it looks like beer o’clock can’t come soon enough!
Happy Birthday Devil Dogs!
Shout out to my Son who Graduated PI last year today.
Well Mick, you can't be in a much better place for bad circuit breakers! It's like you have a huge facilities warehouse.
Hey gallery, any recommendations for anti-virus protection for a new PC?
Or is that too much like "what kind of oil" ?
Wife uses AVAST, I have been using Kaspersky. We have been virus free.
Anything mcafee or norton is good, they are probably two of the bigger AV companies.
I have Avast that I have been running on an old desktop for years and its caught a few things over the years. Was recommended by a friend who is a computer geek when I first loaded it up.
When I got this laptop a year ago I asked for another recommendation from aforementioned computer geek. He said he was running Panda on his machines now. So that's what I setup on my laptop.
Both are the freeware versions and have served me just fine. YMMV
Norton. They make badass motorcycles too.
Missed beer-o'clock, no worries got home, lit a fire and had some Red Stag by Jim Beam. Making up for lost time.
Pressing my personal reset button, wish me luck. Setting up the new PC, loading the software to run the handheld device and then getting back to working with things with moving parts.
This is usually how I go through the day.
For those times you gotta ride, but need bacon as well...
My father is in cybersecurity, we run MalwareBytes and WSA.
@morsetaper2 I saw a guy do that with a trout on his tailpipe, wrapped in foil. Same thing with some sort of pastry tied to the rocker box cover and a spirited day of riding. Pretty ingenious if you want a hot meal with minimal work after riding all day.
I used to do it in college with a can of soup on the manifold of a V8 Ford.
