I am making a handle bar nounted fairing for my R1100 beast project. I already have made a dash panel. The fairing I want to make will be like a Dakar bike style, or like the touratech Desierto style.
For those who have made or used these, where do you run your brake front brake line?

On my YZ forks the OE brake line comes out of the MC and runs straight horizontally towards the left and then arcs down and follows the left fork leg down. My issue is with interference in the dash panel. The way it sits the brake line is behind the dash panel and wants to snag on all of my components on the dash. Once my front fairing is made it will also be sandwiched between the fairing and dash panel, not pinched but between the two and will really limit the upward travel making it kind of pinch or kink.

Are you folks using a longer brake line and arching it in front of the fairing or what?

On mine, I built the dash with a 1/2" gap between the instrument cluster and the triple clamps.

That is what I am thinking I will need to do. Make a cap for the back of the dash panel so it is smooth and leave an air space between the fairing and the cap on the back of the dash plate.
