what is a fair price for this?
Damned if I know the sidecars maybe worth 8-1500 depending on how bad you want a Velorex , to me it's only worth what the /5 toaster tank is worth.
They have sold on ebay from 1800 to 5300 but most right around 25-3500.

What? Jerry, already ready to move past the KLR?
Starting to get that ugly smell.... anyone have a ceramic clutch laying around they are willing to part with for a 2006 BMW R1200RT/GS??.....................
Spoke with dealers in Europe, seems Touratech(Part # 040-0353) has them on backorder worldwide. Are there any other suppliers of a ceramic clutch what would fit?
:) Looking for leading link forks...and maybe a little something for the Gold Wing.
Links on a KLR unless they are incredibly cheap may well be a waste of resources ! But occasionally they do turn up.
Understood...just hate the floppy forks feel.
That I can understand, I'd think brace, more spring, better damping and 18" wheel for a better tire selection.
At the same time pull the front wheel off any dirt bike even quasi dirt rigs they are a floppy piece of shit.
Links add allot of weight but are superior to telescoping on heavy road rigs.
Sidecars are not a precise operation at best !
Have done Eagle Mike brace, stiffer springs and cartridge emulators from Cogent. Considered 18" front but haven't tried it yet. Not sure I like the idea of giving up ground clearance. Freedom subframe already sits below the KLR frame. Also contemplated Emig triple clamps and MX forks but I'd end up investing cash equivalent to new DMC leading links and still have telescopic forks. I'm new to all this but I agree with you, based on limited experience...it's not an exact science. Big fun though!
Ground clearance is the biggest red herring in sidecars , all of use qualify for the AARP and KLR are light compared to GS's etc. If one has any common sense one doesn't go questionable places alone with a bit of kit (rope or strap puller and a decent length of strap.
On youtube there are plenty of modern vids of WW2 German sidecars being driven thru all kinds of shit they are 2wd but they have no clearance under the tug.
