Steib coffee mug made in China. I've never owned a Steib. I believe this was given to my by Red Menace.

Free. Plus postage if outside the US. But only to somebody who actually owns a Steib. Don't reply in the thread--PM me.

If one how defines one defines worth it, if you can use a velorex fine the important part to remember is they where designed for 350-500 cc motorcycles and are often installed where they don't belong, the thing to keep in mind that allot of force lays on the sidecar frame and suspension when you turn away from it.

SWMBO has green lighted a project with a strict budget, scuttling dream-hack, going for get-my-foot-in-the-door-hack. A buddy offered me a should not walk a way price on his like new 09 KLR. Considering how many successful KLR builds I've read about here, the gears are turning.

That's probably a good idea ! There have been inmates who thru a fair amount of money at nice rigs and found them a drag and sold in a few months. I think lots of us first thought is WTF did I do this for screwed up a perfectly good motorcycle.
It's a strange religion and backward from motorcycles !

Much truth to what DB posted here although the new Velorex sidecars do have a larger axle (no longer the 15mm one)...better suspension and a beefed up frame. Mounts? Same as always :-(

Where's double wide ? You won't find this much usable heavy metal anywhere for this kind of money. It's probably a waddling woofer but that can be fixed !

I had a velorex/KLR rig, it was just fine. Great budget/intro rig that could go anywhere. As others have said, make sure its a later velorex with the thicker axle. There is a bolt out kit out there to covert it to the heavier axle, but i haven't seen one in a while. That's what we did with my velorex rig.

Prmurat: Both of those gold (and diamond) plated airheads are in Texas. Why the Los Angeles craigslist add? Hmmmmm!

Prmurat - yes both rigs are out of Fort Worth, at Perry Bushongs old place. New hands took it over. Wish them luck- nice to see they are making a go of it.

I was very interested in the 1984 EML BMW but see a few of you don't like the airheads pulling the side car? Not enough power? I worry about the heat down here in Texas. I had an BMW R1200C that had a butler side car, it was sweet, never should have sold it......Slinking around looking for another BMW set up. My wife misses it too!!!

I can't say from experience how the airhead would be pulling a sidecar, as mine is an oilhead. But I had a Ural once and there is no way an airhead beemer would/could be worse than the Ural! The Ural did as it should but it was way underpowered compared to an airhead.
