I guess this is one of those stupid questions, but I'm frustrated on how to properly fill both tanks on the 990 adventure. I want to put the bike on the center stand and fill both tanks to the max. If I always park the bike on the center stand I don't believe the fuel should run out the overflows. The owners manual would rather you fill the right tank up partially and the left one to the max while on the side stand. Any suggestions would be appreciated. :clap :clap

Leave some room for the fuel to breath. On a hot day it will spill over if you don't leave some room. Having said that if you are about to clock up some miles straight after filling it to the top....that will probably be ok.

Depends if you have the cannister or not as well. If you have the cannister installed, overfilling the tanks can result in a cannister full of fuel which will dump fuel in your engine... not good. Without the cannister overfilling the tank could result in fuel venting through the overflow.. not as much of a problem.

I follow the instructions on the sticker, fill the bike on its side stand, left tank full Right tank about 1\2" from the top...

That said, when Im on a trip, I fill it all the way, both tanks, I rode 1000mi, filling the bike up like that and had no problems.

Dont overfill. If you have a canister it will fill up with gas and could give you a hard time starting your bike.If you dont have a canister and you over fill you could end up wearing gas when you do wheelies. I cant help but do wheelies on this bike cause they are so damn fun:evil
