Just in from the county. Cottonwood Pass, from Buena Vista over to Taylor park (I note that because there are at least 2 Cottonwood passes and at least one Cottonwood Road here in CO.)

Closes for the winter today, 10/31 at 5 pm until the melt out....*sigh*

wonder if this is a fixed schedule closing or as the weather changes?

We rode Taylor many years ago in the middle of November via Cottonwood pass. Got up Italian Mtn. no less!!

Interesting to follow the pass action for this flatlander from the land of the sun (89' today). CWP was my first taste of CO this past summer the last week in June. Took it from BV to Timberland Trail. Funny to see that white stuff in summer.

Also, we were the first to cross Tin Cup a few days later :deal.

Yes and no. I know the county does not expend resources to plow it. So it's likely the snow is deep enough to close the gates. Independence pass is "temporarily" closed (although maintained by CDOT) due to the amount of snow and it's supposed to stay open until Nov. 7th, but probably won't make it) Cottonwood is another 30' +/- higher than Indy.
