Looks like Christmas came early for You & Your Family, Grandpa!!
Well, it was considered as a way to flatten either Bearfort or Bowling Green mountain so they could have an appropriate runway for the area's 4th jetport.

"According to an article in The New York Times on Oct. 29, 1964, the company said it had explored the nuclear idea fully but had dropped it on the grounds that it was impractical and would cause too many adverse side effects"
Ya think ? :huh
I have a "new" (as of last year) trail that goes right along the ridge of Bearfort Mountain. It's really easy. And smooth to.
Hopefully I'll be riding it soon!
Wow, that's a good looking kid! Congratulations, Bob!
Took the boy for his one month check at the dr's today. Check out the motorcycle skully he has on. Also, he has his little orange and gray fleece for the cold weather. It caught my eye one day, in the store, and thought that it matched my KTM perfectly( not that it is running right now )
Snow stuck here in Green (Allamuchy, Hackettown area) and north. So the roads are in nasty shape right now littered with grit.
Commander Barlow, it probably wont matter with your bikes, but the rest of you with nice bikes, stay south of here for now, roads are shitty,...... I mean gritty..........
The secret to winter riding is to wait till it rains and clears the salt, or the temperature is above 35 degrees, so that wet is wet, not black ice. As far as "grit" is concerned, just watch for "alternate" traction in the corners. Staying in the tire tracks usually is the ticket.
Yes, the salt can hurt the pretty bikes. That's why everyone should have a "beater" like that one you have with the stickers!
p.s., drove up to Blue Mountain this morning, and the roads were fine!
This is the reason I signed up on ADVRider Doc. I mean where else would one get insider riding tips like this ?
Big talk from a guy who's current bike cost less than the options on his last bike
Well at least it's not dirty
Heading to the bar to finished the job I began at dinner! New year's in a half hour here. Happy New Years boys. Be safe.
Ireland is a motorcycles parities for folks like us. The roads are largely amazing. Weather to taste. But as I have noticed, if you don't like it, wait five minutes. It will change.
Morris County Midnight Overwatch Squad in effect till 0700
Happy New Year everyone! Here's to another year of keeping the rubber side down.
Todays "heat wave", and a liberal application of salt, has nearly cleared my driveway of ice..
Guess you north jersey guys still have snow, huh? I grew up in Newton and slowly migrated south. Not minding being below the snow line.
Yes, and I went outside at 1:30 today, wimped out and retreated.
But it didnt stop RedPower. Vince comes over at dusk, I crack a joke about him not being on the bike, thinking he couldnt possibly be riding.
We walk out together a half hour later (now dark AND cold), the Hyper is in my driveway. :huh He wasnt even wearing his heated jacket liner !
Hardcore Vin !
Yeah, today was the first day I could get something other than 4 wheel drive or knobbies in & out of the driveway safely
Good to see you today DockingPilot. No biggie to stop by, was on my way home from Newton
Of course, now that I said something, we do get some snow. Luckily, probably not enough to keep me from getting out on dirtbike today.
Welp....looks like I'm off the bike for a few weeks. Some minor surgery this Thursday and then the lovely recovery period, which hopefully isn't too long.
Nothing super serious, but looking forward to getting this monkey off my back.
