Last week I spent a little time looking up some memorials for different wars for the multi-tag. I searched for "armory", "western", and "iraq" in Steve's list, none of them came up as referencing that location. In the list, the "official name" is "NJ Army National Guard, 50th Infantry Brigade, 3rd Battalion, 112th Field Artillery". I tagged a "memorial", there was no overlap with the "NJ Guns" tag. I don't have a photographic memory nor have I looked through every page of the thread, so sometimes I will get it wrong.

I think I did due diligence on this, so RUGGER64 gets the tag.

As to last night's (re-)tag, if the tag object was "Robbie's Music" then it was a re-tag, in my opinion.

Another more practical issue is, if you want me to do another drop, that will be difficult as I'm about to go out of the country until after July 4th, today was supposed to be my last day of riding around having fun. I can do it, but I think there's nothing else interesting here to look at and we should all just move along.

    You folks are funny.....

But remember, it isn't that hard to go home and check the list before posting a new tag. There is no rush. All it takes is checking PC's spreadsheet for the town you know you took the picture in. Then see if the location has been used before, for guns, for instance....

In this case, you'd check Morristown. And you would find:

"1297... "NJ Guns" NJ Army National Guard, 50th Infantry Brigade, 3rd Battalion, 112th Field Artillery"

There are no pictures on the spreadsheet, so that should have been enough to make you a little suspicious of your "gun".

Jim has called it a new tag, and Pepe has gotten it. How about we just move on? And someone ride their bike to the new tag that Pepe posts? :D

I'm not going to get in to a pissing match because I know I'll lose, I do this for fun not to rack up points, although the slight competitive nature makes it more fun. However, in case you missed it, the tag object wasn't a "gun", and I didn't search for that in the list. The search criteria differ by tag, sometimes the town would be appropriate, sometimes not; sometimes the town the tag is located in is given differently by different sources; sometimes the town is not in the list at all. And so on for any other search criteria.

It's not an exact science, and it doesn't have to be, all it takes is for us to do the best we can with the tools we have and to keep it moving and fun. Sometimes there are hiccups, sometimes there are (unwritten) tweaks to the "rules" that we accept make sense. And sometimes we just descend into nitpicking, maybe that's more fun for some people.

    Stbob, I admire your restraint.

There is no need. The simple solution was for the tag dropper to decide, and you did. Off to the new tag....

And StBob, nice new tagging machine!:clap:clap You gonna put knobbies on it and come play big bike in the sand? :evil

This is why I don't bother with this "game" anymore, takes too much time to find something (remotely interesting) that hasn't already been tagged.
But, I can't help myself from checking in at least twice a day.
    Go figure.

    Ride On!

Actually , I went there, but a LEO was by the gate of this former "Lover's Lane", so I just did a U turn and went home :lol3

on that note, if you have the same problem, a pic of the gate and the sign would do, but you may be the target of the rage of this asylum's inmates, just saying! :lol3
