My 2 or 3 year old Garmin 650T has suddenly decided to display the screen in about half its former lamination. I have been through all the options I thought I may have altered or stuffed up but can't make it bright screened (for daylight) again.

    Any suggestions please??

Has the device's clock been set so that it thinks it's night time when it's not, and vice-versa?

my oregon(?) short press the pwr button, and the screen brightness option appears. use plus or minus buttons from there

or try factory settings reset. or check the screen brightness timeout/auto dim setting?

    or new batteries.

    Same with 650T
Short press power button. Brings up backlight setting %.
    Adjust here.

Go into settings/Display and see what your backlight time out is set at.
Not sure if the Battery saver option will effect this?
    If all settings are OK?
Other option to fix/repair would be get a replacement screen/backlight combo from Aliexpress and fit yourself?
    I did this with mine.

Only need to do the first part to replace the screen.

Thanks for both replies. correct spelling noted.
Wairau you were spot on about the short press start button. Screen brightness now back to normal. So easy when you know what your looking for.

    Cheers
