I have lost the miniscule magnet that sits in the battery door of the Zumo 660, not the first time either, but this time its definitely lost.
I have tried magnetising things of the same diameter then cutting to size, but no luck.
Has anyone else done this and found a solution?
I am in the process of contacting Garmin, to see if they do spares, but will need a bush mechanics fix up in the meantime

Currently i am not in a position to verify my claim, but i suspect that to be a rare earth magnet. These are quite strong. A possible source of a rare earth magnet is a hard disk. Take a faulty hard disk, open it and the you will find inside as part of the moving head mechanism, a rare earth magnet..

What you need to do to remove a chunk of the magnet is unknown to me.. You can possibly cut it with a hacksaw. I am currently abroad and can t verify that...

    Good luck
