Garmin Montana question

    I think the advantage of the DvD is you can print out maps. I have Topo US 100k on DvD and it won't Route in BaseCamp. :huh

    Anyone else had trouble with their Montana Units not picking up satellites?

    Mine was having all sorts of trouble with the battery (fixed with tape) and halfway through a long ride it stopped picking up satellites, and hasn't picked any up since.... Originally thought it might have been the terrain/tree coverage. Still not working even in the open... Thoughts?

    My wife's Montana did the same the weekend before last. It just stopped receiving satellites out of the blue. In our case it turned out to be the antenna which had failed, and had to be sent back to Garmin for replacement.

    We have an external antenna I was able to hook up to the defective unit to confirm the gps still worked, but only with the external antenna attached.
