I have been a Magellan user for the last 7 years and have gone Garmin .

I have a Montana 650 T that I am trying to get my head around the use of , I am having issues with the GPS recalculating the route I have planned and loaded via Basecamp , as I ride . Is there a known way to stop this Happening via settings / set up etc ?

In base camp on the pc there is constant pop up screens giving me useless and irrelevant info about the terrain where the pointer is pointed , can I turn this feature off as the boxes get in the way of seeing the roads and tracks I want to click on to plan a route ?

    If yes , how ?

    Thanks
    Alan

As to the Montana I think you can stop the rerouting by gong into Seup\routing and changing this.

I get around this problem by navigating with tracks instead of routes. I have to many problems with things like rerouting and lost patience with it long ago.

I too would like to stop those annoying popups in BaseCamp when drawing routes and tracks. They add no value and obscure the view of what you are doing.
