Gas Spewing out of cylinder HELP PLEASE

    Im thinking I may have got some dirt in a line and a float is stuck??? Could that cause this?

    Could be as simple as a speck of dirt on the needle seat, but best to pull 'em, get 'em on the bench and see what's going on in there.

    Have any adjustments to do? Now's the time. :D

    Been there, done that. It looks like the float needle is stuck open, which allows gas to continue to flow into the bowl until it flows out of the vent tube. Pull the carbs completely, clean them out completely making sure that you disassemble the floats and needle valves, and blow compressed air through the float needle seat.

    Based on the age of the bike, also make sure that the fuel inlets are not leaking. There are tiny little O-rings on each inlet that can fail due to age. The O-rings are hard to find. CJ Designs sells a little packet of the right O-rings: http://www.cjdesignsllc.com/products/carb-inlet-o-ring-kit-lc8/ I'm sure that's not your problem, but it's good to have that kit of O-rings around. Mine failed just before a trip to Colorado last September. My carbs are still working on a crazy mix of odd O-rings we found in a spare O-ring box that we think included O-rings from a D.I.D. chain. :rofl Those bolts holding the inlets in place are put in with red Loctite at the factory and VERY hard to remove {think hammer and chisel}.

    Anyway, your problem is a stuck float. Start there. :D

    Awesome... I'm gonna take it apart tomorrow and super clean. At the moment I don't have that O ring kit. I will order it tho and replace them as soon as it gets cold this fall...

    Op doesn't mention the year of the bike, but I assume carbs due to he facet pump. If this thing was pouring that much fuel into the cylinder would it even be running?

    Video shows an orange machine with a black decal, meaning it's a 2004 to 2005.5 US. That's about when you hear about carb inlet failures.

    I went ahead and ordered the o ring kit. Im gonna take it all apart and clean then wait for the kit to arrive to put back in. Better to go ahead and do it while the carbs are out.

    Yes. This is important to proper running. There should be lots of info here...search this thread, "Float" or "Floats". Single word searches work best...if at all.

    Smack the float bowls with the plastic handle of a screw driver first,might just be stuck float,happened occasionally on older bikes,especially if sitting for a while,worth a try before dismantling some rather tricky carburetors,then ride the crap out of it if it works.Floats don't come out of adjustment very often,probably a speck of something between needle and seat,corrosion between the float pivot and pinot deteriorating Viton rubber tip on needle. Hope this might help,scary thing when gasoline is pissing all over the bike! No holes or splits in fuel line up by carburetors??

    Prolly good advice, I already got em out tho and since Im planning a RTW (leaving in march) I have decided to go ahead and have em ultrasonically cleaned and put new o rings in all around... Floats need to be at 15mm right???

    If your floats are at 15 mm then thats why you are spilling fuel. 3mm to 4 mm on the float height.
