Howdy y'all... it's that time again, first weekend in May, smack dab in the middle of some of the best riding in the country. :nod

The Georgia Mountain Rally is in its umpteenth year, and offers a lot of bang for the buck. That's 45 bucks if you register before April 15 and you get a $10 tax added on after that.

Here's some pitchers and music to show you what it's like.

We got the BMW Performance Center guys coming and they always put on a good ride.

We got several very interesting speakers, an opportunity for on-the-road training, a dual-sport poker run, chili on Friday until it runs out and your very own personal steak cooked just the way you like it.

    y'all come!

I am thinking about linking this in to a Skyline Drive, BRP, Dragon, etc. ride. How far from the Dragon general store? Less than a few hours? Will probably be riding solo since my riding buddies as of late always have responsibilities (excuses)...

depends on which way you'd like to ride. :evil.

A great route for you would be:

    • South on 129 from Crossroads of time to Topton, NC
    • Left on US74
    • Right on Wayah Bald Road
    • Right on Rainbow Springs Road
    • Right on US64
    • Left on NC175, which turns into GA75 and takes you to Hiawassee

This *might* take two hours and takes you along some excellent gravel road riding in the Nantahala NF.

There are other options if you have more or less time. Let me know.... I'll be glad to give you some other routes.
