Haha, did you hear the story of how my coworker called him One-Bag-Bandy?
GI-JO-Nathan, I've started putting my affairs in order before the GNCC Steele Creek Hare Scramble this weekend. I'm preparing to die!!!!!
Well...I've always "had" two bags... ... just not always been able to mount them ghead:

Man, it is about time I got these pics from ya! So when are gonna see you next?
You gonna go to this hairscramble and show em how it is done on an airhead?
looks like rdv
Noticed a new addition to your Sig line, but nothing here about it? I miss my lil Sherp-sherp.
Draechon, sorry man! I totally dropped the ball on this thread. The last year has been pretty busy with selling my house, evicting and getting new tenants in my rental, and getting engaged. I'm pumped about all the riding this year. Hope to make it down to Charleston for one of the dinner's soon.
The little Sherpa is great. I got it for Christy to ride. She hasn't ridden it much, but she is good enough to jump on it and ride around parking lots. We have gone on one or two "trips" to get food downtown, but that is about it. Hopefully this year she will be able to really put some miles on it.
It started burning oil shortly after I got it, but usually just on the interstate. Next winter I will tear it apart and figure out if it is rings or valves. I really like it though. I put lowering links on it and slammed the suspension so Christy could flat foot it. She learned on a friends TTR125 that lived in my garage for a couple years. But it is SOOO smooth on the interstate. Smoother at 65-70mph than my KLR was. If you aren't in a hurry, it is a great great little bike.
How you been?
I want to welcome myself back to my thread I started a few years ago.
I haven't ridden much since last fall, except for every month or so doing the occasional ride to work. Not normally my style.
But I've ridden a good bit the past month. Spent all day today working on the bike and car. I have been having issues with my GPS and USB outlets that run off my FUZEBlock having intermittent power. Turns out the like lock on wire tap I had used to get switched power to the device wasn't seating very well. I swapped it out for some PosiTaps I had lying around. Those things are awesome. Anyways, just a good day in the garage, which it feels like forever since that's happened.
GI-JO-Nathan, assuming you are still in here, I will make you that TNT video soon!
What's up Jesse!
Glad to see you back.
I've been a little ghost around here lately as well, just happened to jump on tonight.
That would be cool to see the video from that day. I feel like I've come a long way since then. And the KDX is doing awesome!
Glad you are doing well man. We need to pick a date to go to Durham town!
Yeah for sure!
I've been wanting to go there since I moved.
I rode to Navarre FL over Easter weekend to visit my little brother. He is an Air Force U-28 pilot stationed at Hurlburt Field Air Force Special Ops Command. Here's a random pic I stole off google...
I'm pretty proud of him and pretty jealous, he's worked his ass off for the last 7 years or so to get himself to this point. So I wanted to get down there to see him now that he has been there 6 months and congratulate him in person. He is also getting deployed in Sep-Oct timeframe and not sure when he will be back. He is only allowed to tell us what continent he is going to and thats it. :huh
First big trip of the season! Also first time in a while I've done a long trip by myself. I rode from Columbia SC to South GA and camped at the Georgia State Veterans Memorial Park. It was a bit pricey but very scenic.
I think picked up on Friday morning, snapped some pics of the Veterans Park.
I stopped by the Kolomoki Indian Mounds. Also a cool place to camp, but I was just there to see the Indian Mounds.
Very cool and interesting. They are the largest Indian Burial Mounds in the Southeast. The Temple Mound is 57 ft. One of the smaller ones was excavated in the 1800's and a museum built over it.
Inside of an excavated mound.
I got to Navarre Beach around 2pm on Friday, which is in between Pensacola and Destin FL. Hung out for two days at the beach, my brother's favorite pizza joint/bar, and checked out some planes we dream about buying.
Another Mooney, gosh I want one!
Couple of King Air's, and Jerry Jone's private jet in the background, note the Dallas Cowboy logo on the tail. He has a house in Destin.
Packed up on Sunday and rode 550 miles home. I pretty much road straight through each gas tank (its only about 140-150 miles range on the F800GS). Except for the 3rd one, I stopped in Macon GA for thirty minutes to see an old friend and meet his wife. He now lives in Honduras full time and met her there. They had a wedding reception the night before in the US for all the people that couldn't make it down for the wedding. Didn't snap a pic, but he has a KLR650 that is all setup for riding down there, but hasn't been able to ship it down. If I happen to stumble upon 2 weeks of vacation, I told him I would ride it down for him!
That's awesome Jesse!
Congrats to your brother!
It's funny that I'm from Pensacola/Pace, and now live near Macon..lol
Ok, so no updates for a while cause Ive been super busy since April because... I GOT A NEW JOB!
So couple groups reached out to me in late April, early May. Tough decision and almost moved to San Jose near Bandy. But ended up taking a job in Rock Hill at the beginning of June. Stated packing up the house and moved to Charlotte and started the new job after the 4th. Hopefully closing on a townhouse middle of August. AND getting married in September.
Anyways, if you hadnt heard in all of that, the Bandys moved to Motorcycle Nirvana in California. Very sad to see my main riding partner go.
Im now staying near the Charlotte airport. There are tons of dirtbike trails within 2 or 3 mile ride, so the KDX is getting a workout!
So two weekends ago, took a nice long ride up past Morganton and Pisgah National Forest with about ten other Charlotte ADVers. Really excited about the move closer to the mtns. The riding in Columbia was pretty limited and flat and straight.
But we did around 250 miles of riding. Once we got north of Lenoir most of it was gravel. Definitely been a while since Ive done that much gravel on the F800GS. Couple of sections eere pretty washed out and got a little more technical. Had one really hairy spot on the road. Rider in front of me hit the turn a little to hot and stood the bike up in the turn. I was following a little too close and decided to follow my line through the turn inside him and pass him. He started to save it and came back into the lane. I thought a hit was imminent and ended up tapping the rear brake. Did the longest unplanned drift through a turn Ive ever performed.
Fortunately, everyone was ok!
Heres a few pics! EDIT: Lost the pics somehow, I've added one, but added more later on in the thread.
Ok, so hoping to start updating a little bit more. Life is slowly starting to settle down and I am finally getting to ride the amount that I would like. Pics to follow.
1. I got married! My life is over. jk
2. I rode with BC61 over December up to the Maggie Valley and Blue Ridge Parkway. It was a great trip, got to do Hurricane Creek on the F800GS, only went down once and I think it was cause I was tired and out of shape. Rear end walked out on me and I had my weight on the wrong peg. Ended up actually getting a concussion come to find out. Didn't know for about 2 or 3 days. All good now. I did retire my AFX 39 DS helmet afterwards, just bought a replacement AFX 41 DS now that the weather is getting nice. I just used my cheap full face all winter.
3. Hit the 1st Annual Motorcycles of Charlotte rally with Ubertenere and Zooka. Ran into a few other people I knew as well and did the Dragon for the first time.
4. Looking forward to RDV Rally next week, plenty of pics to come from that I'm sure.
