With a nod to R. Frost:

Two paths diverged in the wildnerness, and the Wans —
consistently took the one more rock strewn, steep and ridiculously difficult,
And that has made all the difference.

Thanks for the report! :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap

Oh yes, cute little Graeagle. Never have stopped long enough to try an ice cream.
Those rocks around Gold Lake are nothing nice! Talk about rough on the big beemer.
Butcher Ranch trail!!! Richard has tried to kill me a few times going down that.
Pauley Creek is the craziest uphill in that trail network.
Something like this happens every time.

Thanks for including us in your epic trip. Awesome, brilliant, fantastic job.
You two are amazing and inspiring.

I came down Pauly Creek on my 950 Adventure and had to go up Butcher Ranch... Not fun... but I'll never forget it. When I got up to the "ravine" on Butcher Ranch, there were two guys from Santa Cruz bikes doing trail maintenance. They remarked that my 950 was the biggest thing they have ever seen on the trail...

I could not imagine going up Pauly Creek on the 950/990.

And thus, another Wan report comes to a close.

They've got passports, is there any interest in funding an old-school "some godforsaken continent on $50/day" ride for them? Send 'em for Coffee in Capetown via New Delhi perhaps?

    You're very welcome. :D
I'm just so glad you enjoyed the report!

Or, at least parts of it...

    :huh

    :poser

One more Nevada City pic for Hobbes!

    Good god, Aimee! :yikes

What happened? It looks like you probably can’t talk about it. :arg

You make it sound so good, I'm intrigued... :hmmmmm

I googled around - is this the Pauley Creek Trail you and PinkPillion are talking about?
    :scratch

Squaw Ridge is also a fun Sierras ride. Although, it was closed this last summer.
Probably closed for the winter, now.
I hope it reopens next year.
Our Squaw Ridge day trippin' ride report is here (short, no linkies).

    Holy crap, Rob...
    :bow

Matt said, good job - you nailed it! That's exactly where they were. :thumb

    :D

More Death Valley news, real quick -
Matt went to Lippincott to look for the cone...

    It wasn't there!
Anyone hear anything about it being found? :ear
    JustPaul? :scratch

Maybe it was a non-ADV hiker?
    That's a pretty prominent cairn.

At any rate - don't waste any time trying to find the Lippincott Cone - it's gone!

    :eek1

Already gearing up for the first installment of Trying to kill the Wans, I see. :huh

    :lol3

I'm having a tough time answering this one right now.
Matt and I really need to make dinner...
So, Rob - we'll talk about this later. :deal
Here's a quick pic of the bash plate after this ride:

    Hard at work! :gdog

And, for Landon...a bunny pic. :D
    I'm bunny-sitting for my mom.
