As a fellow Scorpa owner I may be biased, but I believe the Scorpa to be a fantastic first trials bike. Plenty of power with nice smooth delivery and very reliable. I think you should be quite tickled...

Mark Barnes also did a recent article on rejuvenating rear suspension, featuring his Montesa two-stroke. And the most recent issue of Motorcycle consumer News had a review of his recent trip to the Trials Training Center.

Nice article. Leaving RYP out of the web resources seems like a weird oversight though.

Appears as though even Trials is not exempt from politics. :lol3

He was trying to be fair and made no mention of the importers. Should of included RYP superstore!

I'm sold on trials as a Dad with a few kids I reckon trials is the right way into tecnique and balance for riding. HOWEVER in Sweden its bloody imposssible to find a trials bike to buy! I don't have the budget to buy a new one that we are going to thrash while learning (I'm after 80cc) and no one seems to sell their old trialbikes. Any ideas?:ear:ear:ear

Can you get and have you considered the OSETs? maybe not the best but better than nothing... good luck.

I also live in sweden, and i managed to find a decent used bike for myself(check blocket, and websites for local clubs), and i bought a 36v -16" OSET for my kids, still i might not recommend the 36v for kids with no experience since the throttle control is a bit twitchy, i have heard that it is better with the 24v version.

    Lycka till ;)

Do the OSET's batteries die after a while?

All batteries have a limited life. A company called Earth X makes a replacement battery set up for the OSETs. Here's what they say about their 24V kit:

The lithium batteries are not cheap, but they make a significant weight savings in an already very light machine. Run time and recharge time are still issues around which you have to work.

Thanks for the reply! I think I'll stick to what I know with old fashioned fossil fuel as a power source though the concept is a good one.

-Lets hope the Vikings turn it around or die in the attempt as there namesakes did!

Dual sport ride in Sipapu last weekend. Seems like every year I sell some crack.
This is Justin (Demo) riding a KLR at the event. His girl friend who has several bikes
are gonna come and visit me and ride trials again. Justin was hooked, you can always tell.

I think I may have posted in another thread about the future of the sport, saying something to the effect that I love riding my trials bike but wasn't concerned with "Trials" as a sport or competition or whatever.

    Well...that's toast.

I went to the 3D Trials Club season opener. I rode from section to section on killer single track through woods and watched (I was the only idiot doing so, too. That was a clue.). I met great people who all offered great advice. I had signage explained to me. I joined the club. I WILL be entering the next event.

Yep...just tie that hose around my arm and find a good vein. I'm in! :lol3
