Yeah, um, or you can just drop whatever blade you're currently using into a little crappy shot glass of cheap vodka and accomplish the same thing. I get close to a month of daily use out of one Mach 3 blade.

Well, I heard this rumor see. And it goes like this...

For a long time the race between manufacturers was to have the sharpest most durable blade. However, there is a point beyond which you cannot get a blade any sharper and they reached that point some time time ago. So, how can they increase sales going forward? By continually introducing new models with extra features they can charge more for. But they have to have them become obsolete to make room for the newest model. Ever notice that when a new model is introduced it shaves like a dream but over time it seems to get worse?

When they introduce a new model they initially use the highest quality steel for the blades which is the reason they last so long and shave so well. Over time they slowly reduce the quality of the steel in preparation for the introduction of the new turbo charged nine bladed ultra maxi laser honed model which they've used the quality steel on again.

    I know its true. :dic

4 shaves better than 2 or 3. And last quite a long time for me.

Actually, I find the best shave is in the sauna. No soap just the razor, and it can be a dull cheapie it doesn't really matter. Closest shave you will ever have.

Doesn't a sauna make you sweat a lot? My face burns if I happen to break a sweat not long after shaving.

I completely agree with the Gillette hate. They are over priced pieces of JUNK. blade edge goes off after like 3 shaves & they charge $4.00 a blade. VERY poor product. (like selling AXE as a cologne ! HAHA - YEAH RIGHT !)

Here's my current razor & it's 5 times the razor Gillettes are:

    Schick Quattro.

Still a SIMPLE design (designed to SHAVE - NOT vibrate, or self lube, or tell you when you need to change a blade, etc. etc. etc.)

Yes it does have 4 blades - BUT it DOES shave SUPER close in ONE pass & they last a couple weeks per blade AND cost about $1.80 a blade.

*** So good in fact - the Girlfriend passes on the brand new 'Super Gillette' in the drawer and goes for my Schick everytime.

    Always the pragmatist.

    :lol3

And in keeping with that vein (and not slitting it with a dull blade), if vodka works, so must a much cheaper bottle of isopropyl alcohol, no?

This is typical marketing. You have to keep reinveting the same product over and over so it sells more... You noob.. You fell for it.. I buy crappy disposable razors for $8 for 5 pack. Each one lasts me 10 shaves..

But yet It takes me two weeks to get to this point:

Run your cheap Votka through a charcol filter.. Give it 3-4 passes.. It will taste like $100/bottle crap.

I use the same. I shave my face (every 3 days) and legs (1x/week) and get about a month out of one blade.

Would vodka ruin the color strip that tells you when to replace the razor (as if it's not obvious when your blade is dull)?
