For those in the Texas neck of the woods and in need of breaking your cabin fever, I will be hosting a camping/campfire Jan 26-27. This is primitive camp with NO water, electricity or toilets...Nestled in a rocky crag valley here in Coryell County. Friday will be for who ever shows and menu to be decided based on attendance. Saturday we will head to Hico for pie and mosey around some our RTB routes which will be much nicer since the rains:clap Back at camp saturday night we will cook up some vittles and have libations before the fire(BYOB) Gatesville went wet so beer and wine is now readily available at most stores:freaky

Loacation is 101 CR 266, Gatesville, TX, then ride to next gate on left...

PLEASE RSVP so I know how many to expect:deal

Apparently my flat luck hasn't changed any. Gotta get some tire voodoo going.

But I used my super secret plug seating technique and limped home.

Other than that and a heretofore un-known allergy to this

I had a great weekend. Nice break.

With any luck at all the nephews and I will be trying not to die in this here water cave in the next couple weeks. [IMG]

    Nice seeing everybody. ;)

Thanks to GhostRider and his whole crew for an outstanding time at his campout! *The Boss put out an awesome spread of brisket and all the fixings, the campfire burned high, and the tall tales flowed. *Had some good times hearing about how things go "boom"! *Ulybrad, a semi professional story teller, layed out a few tales too. The riding was quite good, IMHO better than Junction and closer to Austin! *The ride out on Sat was very chilly, and damp from the fog, which kind of got to me a bit on the way up. A couple of stops for hot coffee set me right. *Thankfully, Sunday coming back in the fog cleared out and temps were perfect in the 60s and 70s. *Ghost has a true hidden gem up in the Gatesville area, lots to be explored, and even the paved roads are excellent, lightly traveled and offering some great veiws.

Had the pleasure of hanging out and shooting the bullshit with Slowoldguy (he blows up all his bikes...), Hasbeen (knows how to rock the slacks and cowboy boots) and some other highly schooled dual sport pros! *

Thanks again to GhostRider for his excellent hospitality, me and KosmicKLR had a great time! *

Following the Roll The Bones Tracks we started our first day doing portions of Ghostriders Dirt Raid.

The XR650R was in fine form!

The day was overcast and fairly cool
    [IMG]

My brother got a chance test out a new wind-blocking fleece liner under his tourmaster.
It kept him warmer than the quilted liner that comes with the jacket.

The KLR is very TRUSTY! Perfect for the mix of road and dirt that we encountered.

One of my very favorite roads in the area.

Coming over the top of a fairly steep uphill turn.

Where is my marshmallow and stick when I need it!

The moon was getting warmed up!

Just ask ULYBRAD how hot this was...

    Searching for Homer...

This was as big as Homer's head.

In case Homer ever needs to find this place again
    [IMG]

After Homer ate, we rocked and rolled home!

    Thanks Ghostrider!

Donut and coffee fueled for the ride home!
