Wow! Thanks, I think? I truly do love that word AssHat!!!!!
I forgot to put a pic in of the " Base Camp"
Who was putting up with who? !
Thanks so much for the righteous base camp out there Pat - You're always on the list bud! Can you imagine how hot is it out there now? I'm stickin' close to the pond until it rains again.
Nice nail in the tire! and good ride shots too btw.
I did a lot of camping and fishing as a youth up near Prineville, and the Sisters area (wet side), but that area is just freekin awesome. Thank you for sharing it with us.
That was one hell of a cool ride. I'd love to do that. Do you have any GPS routes? PM me if you do.
Great report, pics, and the ride itself. My brother-in-law worked cattle in some of those areas and once told me to only camp at the highest point around the Steens where the wind was always blowing those mosquitoes away. From the sounds of it, I guess he was right.
I was in Moro, OR this past weekend, but alas bikeless (and had no time anyway). For sure another time. Hi Bacon
Thanks again guys,
Phuk, I can't believe I almost missed this report! Amazing ride and pictures. You guys spin a great story and the riding looks epic!
HA Jim! You would've loved this trip!
No kidding! It looks like a great ride with great guys. I was out your way a couple of weeks ago with the kid searching for Thundereggs. It was a fun father/daughter trip but I really wanted to be there with my bike. Maybe in a couple weeks I can get out there.
Wow that was the longest picture report I have ever read, great job guys, I probably would have not made it all that distance. Thanks for sharing a great ride. I can't even begin to imagine the time it took just to organize the pictures, post them and then writ all of that stuff. Thumbs waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up.
This is for you Deej.
I sold my 250 KLX-250 but I did get a picture of when I road it from Portland to Plush. I happen to live in Plush now. I sold my bike to a friend but could still use it anytime.
My wife just talked to a KLR-650 rider at the store and he mentioned this site. You should probably be getting another report soon.
The skeeters are much better, now that the fields are cut and the meadows are drying up.
Anyone needing a hand, stop by the log home right after you drop down the hill.
Current pic of the valley
fantastic report, loks like you all had a great ride.
Lucky fella! We have 4 more years here in yuppieville and then we're looking around and Plush is, well, plush. How long have you lived there? Don't know Richard Bradbury do ya? He rescued a broken BMW for us a few years back, took the guy and his bike all the way to La Pine and really saved the day.
I moved down at the beginning of this year. My new wife has lived here for about six years. She knows the people you are talking about. There is a Jr. and a Sr. 175 miles to La Pine from Plush. Back way though the Plush cutoff rd. is about the same. 200 miles to Bend either way (140/395/31/97)
Great report guys.
I think I would take on those western Oregon-Nevada mosquitoes any day over the ones here in Minnesota. They are our state bird here in the land of 10,000 lakes and swamps.
Yeah, I don't envy you guys back there. I'd probably stick a gun in my mouth.
Thanks for the compliment just the same.
Idaho Joe headed back to Boise at sunset -
LC8 950 SE, you should heard that thing!
